This lodge was brilliant. All small details had been thought of, even down to an ice machine for our gin & tonics! The house was very cozy & warm. The hot tub was fabulous & had gorgeous views Only a 5 minute drive into Penrith. Would definitely recommend.

Wonderful stay
We were lucky enough to have an extended stay at Green Vale Lodge and wish we could have stayed for longer. The accommodation is excellent and the location perfect. We had everything we needed (and more) in the lodge and the layout and decor was modern and very comfortable. The views from the garden are spectacular. Yanwath is a great place to stay as it sits in between Penrith and Ullswater and I was able to cycle to both locations within 15 minutes. The team at Cumbria Cottage Hoildays couldn’t have been more helpful. Thank you for a fantastic stay. We hope to come back!

A comfortable place to stay
Adam was helpful in rectifying a problem with a heater.
We felt the additional charge for extra logs was unnecessary, and the ones which were supplied didn't catch light readily.
Although it wasn't a problem for us in September, the lack of a bedroom blind could be an issue in summer.
Silicone tongs would be useful to use in the air fryer.

Thank you for your review. We are pleased Adam was able to help with the heater. We have passed your comments onto the owner to address. We hope we can welcome you back again in the future.
We loved our stay at the lodge; it is beautifully decorated and in a lovely, peaceful location. The mobile wifi was a fab addition! The check-in process was incredibly easy and the neighbours sparse. For being a lodge park, it's incredibly quiet. The lodge is set above the more tightly-spaced lodges so I believe we only saw traffic from one other lodge so if you're looking for a quiet escape, this is your place.
We especially appreciated the decoration in the lodge, it was somehow both modern & vintage, minimalist yet detailed. It's beautiful!
The lodge is in a superb location for access to the lakes and only a short drive away from Patterdale. Penrith is a short hop skip and jump away and there's plenty of countryside to stroll through in the immediate vicinity. Not that we walked about; once you sit in those sofas, you sink into the comfort and just don't want to leave.
The only two things of note would be: we were fine on Vodafone, but the Uber driver did lose mobile phone reception in the last two minutes of the drive.
The second point will only be relevant to pet owners: the garden isn't 100% secure. Children will be unlikely to disappear, but smaller dogs will absolutely be able to escape without struggling, and the cars drive up that road surprisingly fast. We just chucked some boxes at the edge of the fence to make it a bit more difficult and ours isn't likely to venture out behind the shed (the 2nd possible escape route), but it's just something to note!
What a amazing location, Not far to Penrith which was nice! Property was very homely and the views where to die for, Big plus was having the hot tub and being pet friendly
