We loved Lilac Barn. Perfect for accessing walks in the north lakes and the barn itself was lovely. The beds were really comfy and the setting was very peaceful. Also close to Penrith which had good supermarkets and a nice town centre. The Sun Inn was a really good pub with nice food.We will definitely be trying to book this again soon.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Lilac Barn.
We had a very enjoyable stay at Lilac Barn. We enjoyed being in a quieter village but with easy road access to the Lakes. The barn was spacious and very comfortable. There was a village pub nearby and within walking distance. Would return and highly recommend.
We had a great week in this property which is full of character (and surprisingly warm!). It was about 20 minutes in the car to many days out/Lakeland walks and a very easy drive into Penrith with its many shops, so everything you could need is nearby. The hosts were fantastic and very helpful and we would definitely recommend a stay here!
Very lovely garden and cottage. The owner was extremely helpful with things to do in the area. The added touches like milk and wine in thw fridge on our arrival made us feel very welcome.

Wonderful barn residence.
Wonderful barn residence. Everything you need and more provided. Lovely quiet village with welcoming and reasonably priced pub to eat very close. Penrith is a couple of miles away and has many shops and cafes. The barn is bigger than our house. Comfortable beds, luxurious bath, lovely garden and welcoming hosts, Caroline, Enda and Bruce. Highly recommended. Great location for exploring lakes, walking, castles, ancient monuments, so beautiful. We used the leisure centre in Penrith for swimming and that is really well equipped too with 2 pools, climbing wall, soft play and lots more.

The Lilac Barn exceeded our expectations as a base for exploring the Lakes.
The Lilac Barn exceeded our expectations as a base for exploring the Lakes. The proprietor Howard, living on site, was never far if there was a question to be asked yet was forever respectful of the current Covid situation; with the property being thoroughly cleansed before and after. All the home comforts were there in the Barn including a courtesy bottle of wine on arrival. Howard's knowledge of the local area and the Lakes was ever useful and a relaxing time was had by the whole family.

We had a lovely stay at the lilac barn.
We had a lovely stay at the lilac barn. Was welcomed with a bottle of wine which was a nice touch. The barn was well presented and really well located a couple of miles out of Penrith. WiFi strength wasn’t the best but put it down to location which didn’t effect the holiday. Would recommend staying here

A lovely cottage with everything you could need for a short break.
A lovely cottage with everything you could need for a short break. Beds were comfortable and rooms tidy and clean. Great location for visiting lakes and caves and we managed to go somewhere each day. Friendly owners and quiet area. The only negative would be that the WiFi wasn't strong enough to use, luckily we didn't need it so could live without.
