Superb property for family get together, spotlessly clean, luxury accommodation and great layout with everything you need. We loved the fact that all the bedrooms are similar sizes with an en suite each and no one had to choose the best room. Super responsive owners went out of their way to help

Exceptional
We were a large family group of young adults and older.
We rent cottages regularly and Leapings Lodge must be the highest quality one to date.
Spacious and very well equipped.
Hot tub always hot.
High quality finish.
Owners quickly responded to any queries.
It was great to have the Trans Penine route literally at the top of the garden. The morning runners among us loved it.
We would definitely return to this one.

Great Cottage!
The cottage was perfect. Loads of communal space. Struggled a little with thermostats but had all the amenities we could have asked for.. Gorgeous location, as new condition.

Perfect stay - Wonderful cottage
Just stayed for 5 nights at Leapings cottage with my family. The cottage is amazing, has everything you need. It’s in a lovely quiet place but so close to everything. The cottage is huge and we had so much space. Everything we needed and more was here. The hot tub was great. Would defo recommend. Only thing the boys wanted was a pool table and dart board but we were glad there wasn’t one - they couldn’t disappear xx

An outstanding property in a wonderful location
This is a very special house, perfect for groups of friends wanting to get together. The layout of the house was ideal for us but it does have a lot of stairs (we didn’t mind that at all!). A lot of care and attention has gone into every aspect of this property which was spotless on arrival and the standard is very much ‘luxury’ throughout
We absolutely loved the huge kitchen/diner and enjoyed cooking, eating and spending time in here. It is really well equipped for those who like to self-cater with plenty of cutlery, crockery, glasses and kitchenware. Bedrooms were all beautifully decorated with en-suites and extremely comfortable, high quality beds and linens.
The setting of the house in the countryside is stunning and the grounds including the hot tub were gorgeous.
The location is very handy for Penistone (great for shops and a supermarket) but quiet and peaceful on a dead-end lane, right on the TransPennine Trail - we are keen walkers and were totally spoilt for choice locally. Also, If you have a dog, this is a totally safe, practical, dog-friendly holiday property inside and out.
Our hosts Nick and Lisa were welcoming and on call to answer any questions we might have had as well as being flexible on check-in and check-out day. Thank you for a brilliant week - we were all very sad to leave and would recommend The Leapings unconditionally.

Great house
A great house for 12 of us to spend New Year together. We had a few little hiccups with the fridge freezer and the Wi-Fi going off at midnight but the owners were on hand and readily available to help. There is plenty of living space to spread out and the location is near to the Peak District for our walks. The Yorkshire Sculpture Park is in the vicinity too. We cooked at the house every evening and on the last night went to a pub recommended by the owners which was fab.

Great well equipped cottage!
Our group stayed here in September 2024 and had a wonderful week. We were met on arrival by Nick and shown the key features of the cottage. The property is spacious, well equipped and finished to a high standard. Rooms are all lovely and the hot tub was nice and warm. Location is great, there is plenty of parking available onsite and you are just one mile from the local town Penistone (and it’s Tesco!) but far enough away to feel secluded. Also you are just on the edge of the Peak District so can enjoy all that it has to offer. Overall this cottage comes highly recommended.

Family Party
We booked Leapings Cottage and Weevers Cottage together so we could have a long overdue family get together.
There were 20 of us and the houses were perfect.
We spent most of the time in Leapings Cottage - the outdoor and indoor space fit us all in to eat and socialise perfectly. The lounge is ENORMOUS!
The bedrooms/en suites are all beautiful, the games rooms fantastic, the hot tubs lovely.
Customer service was great too - really responsive when I wanted to change the configuration of some of the bedrooms (from king to twin beds). Lisa who owns the cottages really has thought of everything.
Thanks so much!

Perfect for adult getaway
A family get together. We rented this cottage and the weavers cottage next door. 10 adults and 8 children aged 4 to 15.
Beautifully decorated and furnished with good quality bed linen and towels. Well equipped.
Could not recommend for children as all but 1 bedroom is situated in another building which is accessed via an underground passage. The entertainment areas and communal areas are all in the main building. We didn't feel comfortable leaving the kids in bed so far away even with monitors so a parent took it in turns to stay with the children at the annexed building on an evening which was a shame.
The stairs are beautiful throughout but they are hard wooden open tread so difficult for smaller children and older adults!
There are no flat grassed areas so playing games was not possible.
We could not find any operating instructions for any appliance other than the music speakers!
Overall a beautiful large place to stay if you are able bodied adults and can afford it as it is expensive for a family but not for lots of adults
Beautiful property; great location within walking distance of a nice pub. The trans Pennine trail runs right behind the property and is nice for walking and or running. You can also walk ( approx 1 mile ) on the trail to the Tesco in Penistone. The week we were there was unusually warm and the host furnished fans which was nice.
