Situated to the northwest of Portree, Rowan Cottage is in an idyllic position to watch the sea and golden eagles and is the perfect place to create everlasting memories.
Situated on the banks of the head of Loch Snizort the Cabin has uninterrupted views and is in its own little inlet where you will find peace and relaxation. The main town of Portree is 8 miles away, a quaint town with a pier where you can buy freshly caught fish or enjoy it from one of the local restaurants. Book a boat trip to show you Skye from the outside in, or enjoy browsing around the boutique shops while watching the world go by sitting in the town square.
Dunvegan Castle, the seat of the Clan MacLeod and also home of the Fairy Flag, is only a 20-minute drive away, and beyond the castle is Coral Beach, a lovely white sand beach where the local cows come down to the water and have a dip!! Further west from Dunvegan is the township of Glendale and the most northwesterly point on the Island, Neist Point Lighthouse, being one of the most visited landmarks in the whole of Scotland. Being a tourist favourite, it certainly is worth the visit, as are the Fairy Pools just outside the village of Uig, the Quirrang, the Old Man of Storr and the dinosaurs’ footprints, all of which are in the north of the island.
Bring your bikes and enjoy an early morning cycle or your kayak and you can go from the neighbouring croft into the loch. There are restaurants within a 15-mile radius of The Cabin, which all boast unique features along with having high ratings. It is recommended to book in advance when choosing to dine out due to their popularity! If you wish to visit the Outer Isles, you are only a 20-minute drive from Uig and if you are looking for a smaller Island you have the Isle of Raasay with a 10-minute ferry crossing! Over the years Skye has become very popular and once you stay at The Cabin, you will see why. The Skye hospitality and scenery is by far some of the best you will find, and you will be sitting at night out on the patio watching the sun go down while planning a return to this wonderful base.
