About this property

Cornish Beachside Bungalow

Fully detached, single storey 4-bedroom bungalow, enjoying an elevated position nestled amongst the trees, in the idyllic village of St Mawgan. Modern, family friendly home, private parking, fully enclosed private south facing garden.

St Mawgan is an idyllic British village, nestled in the wooded Lanherne valley with the River Menalhyl running through it. It is a lovely little village built around a beautiful 13th Century parish church, working monastery, and village green.

It has all the charm and beauty of a quaint British village, without the frustrations and tackiness of a busy British seaside town.

The property is located less than 5 mins to the popular beaches of Mawgan Porth & Watergate Bay. You are a less than 15 mins drive from Newquay, Padstow, and the North Cornish coastline.

The house has a private car park out the front of the property for one car with additional parking in the village.

Surprisingly, despite the close proximity to the beaches, the village manages to avoid most of the Summer tourism mayhem. And within walking distance of a handful of British pubs (including the beautiful 16 century Falcon Inn), the beach and village green and river, you can happily avoid using your car during the entire trip.

The house itself is literally on the wooded footpath that leads to the beach, which is one part of 2 beautiful circular public woodland walks that follow the river, and ends up at either Mawgan Porth or St Columb, a local village.

The property is located walking distance to Cornwall international airport. With 3-4 airlines flying daily to London, in addition to a number of international destinations, the location also perfectly suits those families who may be looking to base themselves in Cornwall, but still need the convenience of commuting into London for work.

Finally, a bus-line runs past the house, which gives you access to Newquay, Padstow and more distant areas of Cornwall if you would prefer to use public transport.

Holiday home in the woods

Bosorna locally known as the ´House on stilts’ was more than we imagined, absolutely stunning setting and the weather was kind to us, allowing us to use the 3 outdoor levels. We used the BBQ every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner and loved dining on the large table outside. Our Grandsons thoroughly enjoyed using the Goalposts and Swingball whilst the adults relaxed on the top tier. Kitchen was well equipped and the sitting room was very comfortable. Bedrooms were suitable for our group and the 4 year old was on a Murphy bed with his parents...however might be a little tight for 10 adults! We enjoyed our home in the woods for the week and felt it was "home from home", peaceful, beautiful and relaxing.

Doesn’t sleep 8 adults

The location and property are stunning. Unfortunately the listing is inaccurate as the 4th bedroom is a child’s room with a small single bed and pull out. A small sunroof rather than window. We did not fit and unfortunately had to sleep on the sofa. The listing also says the property sleeps 10 and we ran into these problems with just 8 of us. The other 2 would have to sleep on small camp beds in the lounge. The host was very helpful and contactable but unfortunately the property was left quite lived in with takeaway food in the fridge, cobwebs and socks on the floor. A lovely place to stay but you are staying in someone else’s home.
