About this property

Coastal landscape, quiet location with abundant wildlife, bird watching

This charming recently renovated farmhouse is the perfect getaway. Situated in a stunning rural location, surrounded by rolling hills and lush green countryside.

The cottage is a single storey traditional stone building, which was used as the farmhouse when the farm belonged to the Duke of Argyll. There is a large enclosed garden surrounding the cottage. There are three bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen with sunny dining area overlooking the sea and the hills, and a cozy living area with a an open fire. The farmhouse is located in a very quiet area 4 miles from Campbeltown with lovely views of surrounding hills and farmland with sheep and cattle peacefully grazing. There is a wealth of bird life as the cottage is located not far from the sea and from heather moorland. Take a wander around Campbeltown and you’ll get an insight into the town’s booming whisky past. Tantalising glimpses remain, from faded signs to old buildings. You will also find distilleries and whisky bars. There are some lovely beaches not far away including the renowned Machrihanish Blue Flag beach with miles of golden sand. With in less than 30 minutes drive are several golf courses including Machrihanish Golf Course, Machrihanish Dunes, and Dunaverty. In the town itself there is Aqualibrium, which has a large heated pool and a well equipped gym and leisure facilities.
The house is well equipped and spacious, with a large enclosed garden and sheltered patio for barbeques. From the kitchen dining area guests can enjoy views over the hills and the sea to Ailsa Craig.
It is near to Stable Cottage but totally separate. The cottages are suitable for families wishing to holiday together but in separate properties but are also completely separate and private with separate entrances, parking and enclosed gardens.
