The Neighborhood:
Ladbroke Grove is renowned for its strong connections to the arts and music industries. The annual Notting Hill Carnival takes place on Ladbroke Grove itself and the famous Portobello Market is but a mere stone's throw attracting visitors in their thousands.
This West London neighbourhood has undergone a lot of changes over the years, from factory housing in the 1800s to a bohemian artist paradise in the 1960s. The British Underground scene grew up in neighbouring Notting Hill, and legendary rock star Jimmy Hendrix died here. However, this is still in the borough of Kensington and Chelsea, so it was only a matter of time before the wealthy families and media moguls moved in. Amidst the posh boutiques there are plenty of cool, creative places to check out here.
Getting Around:
Ladbroke Grove is extremely well connected to the rest of London. Underground stations Ladbroke Grove, Notting Hill Gate and Holland Park are all nearby, giving you access to the District, Circle, Central and Hammersmith & City lines. There are plenty of buses, and even the Overground at Kensal Green isn’t too far away. You’ve got no excuse not to explore London!
