This is a fantastic beach property! Even with uncooperative weather my family had a great week of beach and water fun. The views are especially beautiful and the plunge pool was great for the smaller kids.
Beautiful historic home and location. We spent all our time enjoying the water on the kayak, sup and surfboard. Great local places to eat and can early order groceries and food. We enjoyed every minute of our stay.
we had a lovely time at this ocean-front property with a large hot tub. The house had a well-stocked kitchen, the communication with the property owner was excellent and the ocean and hot tub made for a perfect vacation
This is our second stay at this property, and we are already planning for a return next summer!
It is perfectly located, charming, and the views of Long Island Sound are incredible. There is room for everyone and still there is privacy.
Highest recommendation. A+++++
Had a wonderful long weekend - the location on the water and the availability of kayaks and a paddle board made all the difference! House was very clean (and we're extra picky) and very well supplied (kitchen). Note that bathrooms are not "en suite" so there is some sharing to be expected... pool is more of a large hot-tub than a real pool, but the kids enjoyed it.
The house worked out well for us. Perfect size for what we needed(5 bedrooms). The pop a shot and driveway basketball net was a huge hit with my 7yo nephew. The pool/hot tub was also great and the tidal pools down the way at low tide were awesome for my kids and nephew. House was equipped with everything we needed to cook our meals.
Very nice home. The pool was a great setup for the kids. We used the kayaks and paddle board and enjoyed the great weather. A lot of local restaurants that were all very good. Overall great stay at this house.
This place has a dramatic view of the sound and is very large. It is well stocked with things you need to cook with and the rooms are plentiful and comfortable. We had three families stay and we had room to spare. The owner has a lot of fun games and many televisions as well as the hybrid pool/hot tub. The outdoor space was so great but then there was also the terrace on the upper floor that was out of this world. We were able to hang out and see the stars, it was all just so great.
The owners were very friendly and helpful as well. Highly recommended.
The property is a very well kept, updated and historic beach house. The view of the sound is terrific, with a small stony beach. The little ones struggled a bit but still had fun. The house sits on a rise above the water with a nicely fenced yard. Chipping pad and green in constant use. The number of family time areas from the porch, to the master bedroom rooftop entertainment area, to the windowed family room were the sites of many family memories. Everyone enjoyed the spa/pool but probably
best suited for kids 4 and up as it is made of beautiful
blue/grey slate stone. Lastly the owners understand how to make a home ready for guests and were incredibly communicative. Place is a thumbs UP
Older property. Very clean but had areas that need fixing. Screen was ripped heading out to the pool so you could not keep the slider open. The handle to the slider upstairs off the master bedroom that led to the upper decks was broken so you had to manually push/pull the door to get out there. Once you were on the decks the wicker furniture was old and had rips in the fabric. So we weren’t able to enjoy that area. Deck off the kitchen was not accessible and seemed like it was in need of/in repair. Water stain with black on the ceiling in the hallway to the 1st floor bedroom. I know this sounds like a lot however, I think it is just because the property is old. It was clean and the owner/property manager was super attentive!
Perfectly located on the water with a terrific view of some Thimble Islands. The bay was extremely swimmable. Water shoes were needed to get in and out as the beach right at the house had larg smooth rocks, but a more sandy area both above and below water line could be found a few houses down. The in-ground heated spa/pool was lovely and the owner very accommodating about turning the temperature higher or lower for us. Pool, lawn, beach toys/ equipment were great. Excellent BBQ equipment, including a Green Egg for smoking and a gas grill. The back lawn was lovely and the outdoor furniture comfortable. The tee off the side lawn to the putting green down the hill at the front of the house was very fun. Beautiful landscaping, both flowers and shrubs. The kitchen, with the giant island, was wonderfully equipped with tons of cookware, dishes , appliances like an airfryer, spices, really anything you could want. Great refrigerator with an ice maker that worked. Giant dining room table, two living rooms with super comfy sofas and chairs and incredible views of the water. Reading lights were the only things missing in the living rooms. Bathrooms were all excellent. The four main bedrooms each had their own window ACs and the main floor had two mini-splits for the common areas. No AC for the basement bedroom. Mattresses were comfortable. Gates/ spa cover were helpful for toddler as were crib and toys. 9 people had a great time here.
We had a wonderful stay! Communication with host was very easy and Andy was so helpful. Everyone enjoyed the small pool. The first floor bedroom and bathroom was very convenient for our family member with an ankle injury. Great house!
Posted descriptions seemed quite accurate of an older house with lots of character that felt authentic to the setting but with top-notch, high-end updates and with a breathtaking view. Elegant bedrooms with amazing bedding and overall home furnishings from a Town & Country photo shoot, though best bring your own books/puzzles, etc. Setting is walkable to near-by restaurants/seafood shop/etc, and past memorable neighborhood landscaping, though far too many Maserati drivers racing along the narrow streets! Rocky shoreline might not meet "beach" definition for some, but our adult group found the classy covered mini-pool/hot tub in the yard delightful for warmer water chil-laxing. Owner was solicitous & prompt, though our combined 2 family/8 people group had no problematic issues to address during our stay. Enjoyed a fun half-day trip to New Haven & boat tour of the Thimble islands that also helped provide an overall wonderful relaxing vibe.
The house had a great, well stocked kitchen. We enjoyed the lap pool however the beach was a little too rocky for us. The views and the location were spectacular. The main floor master worked well for my 83 year old Mother.
This house was a lovely getaway for our family. The views are beautiful and the heated pool is a major plus. We had small children so it was a perfect size for us, but It is probably small for older kids who want to really swim and jump. The house was clean and fairly well stocked. The family room on the first floor is amazing with views from three sides. Bedrooms were comfortable and all had window unit air conditioners. Host was very responsive even raising the pool temperature for us on a cooler, rainy day.
Quick access to breweries, coffee shops and restaurants but feels tucked away.
Just know the beach is quite rocky and completely gone at high tide. We spent most of our outdoor time in the pool.
Beautiful home with a beautiful view. We had a small party on the terrace to celebrate my dad’s 80th birthday and the setting and view made in very special. We also love how the owner decorated and equipped the home with everything we needed. We highly recommend it!
Right on Long Island Sound, the house is spacious and comfortable, with multiple decks with terrific views, a spa pool, and even a putting green! The owners are very communicative. The area has restaurants and shopping very close by.
We loved staying in this house for the week. It worked so well for our family with three small children. The shallow soak pool/hot tub with electric cover was great. The 2nd floor deck was amazing for evening happy hour. The house is beautifully decorated and well-stocked with towels, linens and paper products. Could use additional beach chairs, kitchen utensils, and serving and mixing bowls. Downstairs a/c needs to be run all day to keep the room cool, needs replacing. We hope to come back in future years and enjoy this beautiful view and fun town.
We always have a summer beach vacation, and this was the first time we've done this in CT. We loved it! The house and location are beautiful. It is truly a family home, and the owners put a lot of themselves into it. The living spaces and kitchen large, varied and inviting. Our kids loved playing pool, and we all loved the hot tub/pool in the front yard. Swimming in the Sound is wonderful as well. (It's a little rocky/sandy, so sandals are helpful for those with tender feet.) The kayaks that are at the house got a lot of use, and our adults kids rented paddle boards locally. Owners had left their (very nice!) binoculars, which allowed us all to view Jupiter and its moons over several nights of our stay. (Thanks!) Our pre-teen boys thought the downstairs bedroom was cool although we avoided using the laundry at night when they were sleeping as it is co-located. The other bedrooms are all air-conditioned nicely. There are 2 cribs upstairs that we didn't use, but are available. The owners are nearby and helped with anything we called about. Close by there are restaurants (walking distance) and a very short drive to all other commercial and entertainment resources. We recommend this house to anyone for a comfortable family (or 3-4 couples) stay.

This house is wonderful with an amazing view of the sound.
Everyone enjoyed the spacious dining and family rooms. The backyard and pool are amazing features alone, but the view of the sound makes this home so special.
Thank you to the owners who made sure our stay went well and the home was clean and ready.

Great property.
Stayed here with my family last week and really enjoyed it. House was right on the ocean with awesome views of Long Island sound. Loved the oversized outdoor hot tub. Very relaxing environment to get away from it all. Yet close to some great local restraunts. Owners were great to deal with. For a few minutes couldn’t get satellite tv to work and they talked me right through resetting it and were great.
I would definitely stay here again and we all hated to leave.
Thank you
