Wonderful

Rare to find a holiday home nicer than the pictures. The downstairs is open and spacious in an open plan arrangement. The underfloor heating keeps it warm downstairs and an appropriate coolness upstairs (at least in March). The view from directly out the window of Lake Windermere is gorgeous. The house is fairly remote but that's just what you want to escape to the Lakes.

Thank you for your lovely review and we’re so pleased to hear the house exceeded your expectations.
The property has recently been refurbished, with interior painting and all-new furniture and furnishings throughout. We’re just awaiting the final sofa to arrive, which will complete the upgrade. We haven’t yet had the opportunity to re-photograph the property to reflect these improvements, but we’ll be updating the listing soon.
The views over Lake Windermere really are something special, and we’re so glad you had the chance to relax and enjoy them. We hope to welcome you back again in the future!

A hidden gem
Cunsey Lodge is a place where you can truly relax and unwind. The house is spacious and just perfect for a family/friend get together and having an hot tub was the icing on the cake. Beautiful view of Lake Windermere and surrounding area.

Mid term break
We have stayed at graythwaite in various properties over the past 15 years. It is the best place to recharge your butteries.
Lots of room, nice layout, clean, cozy for a family of 4 adults and 3 kids.
Only suggestion would be to provide a few laundry pods for washer as they did for dishwasher.
Nice welcome basket in kitchen was appreciated!
Good location from which to explore.
We all had a great time!

Lovely Estate
Cunsey Lodge is a beautiful property, with great views over Windermere. Our stay was problematic with storms and so out of the control of Graythwaite Estates staff, but they did what they could to accommodate us in a nearby property so we could make the most of our long weekend. So I can also vouch for Field Head House which had lots of space and was nicely furnished as a much older style. Also great to have the activity company on site.

Lovely short break
We visited Cunsey Lodge at the beginning of August. It has a really spacious living area which is excellent for entertaining, it is clean and the bathrooms are very modern and light.
The view from the front bedrooms is wonderful and the property has a hot tub and firepit which we used every day. It was lovely to relax and overlook the lake whilst sat chilling in the hot tub. All bedrooms are ensuite so you get your own privacy too if sharing the property with others.

Very lovely place to stay
We stayed here for a wedding at Silverhome. It was a splendid weekend and the Lodge fitted the bill brilliantly. Everything very tidy and clean. The hot tub was a lovely bonus that we enjoyed on Saturday morning as part of my daughters birthday celebrations. The only minor issue is that some of the furniture is starting to look a little tired – particularly the three-piece suite downstairs.. Otherwise lovely and recommended

Reunion 2024
The 2024 Dove Cottage Reunion went very well, due in no small measure to the facilities available at Cunsey Lodge. The building is well designed, comfortable, and was particularly effective for group cooking. It would have been useful to have had a dustpan, brush and broom available.

OK BUT NEEDS UPGRADE
Large house and lovely location. I would not say it is dog friendly nowhere to let the dogs out unless on a lead. One of the showers was blocked and we had to get some drain cleaner and black mould in showers and bathrooms. We found currants under the seatpads on the sofa, fortunately our dogs did not eat them. There was some dubious stains on the bedding which I did not notice until I removed the blanket at the bottom of the bed. The house itself was in need of a freshen up damaged walls were patched in areas without being painted. The sofa was in need of replacing. The welcome pack was a nice touch but would probably be better having milk to compliment the tea, coffee and biscuits instead of a bottle of beer

Perfect setup for our group of 8
Our group of eight, 2 families with 2 adults and 2 teen/tween kids each, stayed at Cunsey Lodge for 4 nights. It was the perfect setup for our group! With two bedrooms having twin beds, each kid was able to have their own bed which they much appreciated and the large number of bathrooms meant that no one was waiting. The large, well stocked kitchen made it convenient to prepare meals, which we did each night for dinner and each morning for breakfast. And the large dining table enabled us to eat together, which was a plus for the birthday meal we celebrated while there for one of the kids. The mudroom was a nice size and we made good use of it so we weren't tracking mud and wet through the house after our outdoor activities. We also loved the outdoor space and took advantage of the hot tub and fire pit each evening, made possibly by the generous amount of wood provided. The little extras that were waiting upon arrival, including coffee and biscuits, were also a nice touch. We hope to stay there again someday!

Family holiday
Lovely space in the lodge for a large family gathering. The bathrooms were great apart from a leaky shower in one of the twin rooms. There was not a wardrobe in one of the twin rooms which was a bit of a problem having to share one in another room. For the cost of the property I would expect a little more such as a coffee maker, better quality cutlery, sharper knives. The use of the pool was a good addition although it would benefit from a door to the shower and changing areas with hooks to hang clothes on. The back to back booking meant there was no privacy for showering and changing before the next group came in. The shop was sometimes closed earlier than stated on the website.overall we had a lovely holiday but I was a little disappointed with the overall quality considering the cost to hire.
