Room for improvement

The location is stunning, the farm shop is lovely and the staff we interacted with on site were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately there are a few things in the cottage that could do with some work. There is a floorboard missing in the kitchen, part of the tap in one of the bathrooms is broken etc. The pressure in the showers was exceptionally low, and both refillable soap dispensers were completely empty. We booked the pool for 10:30 on Saturday, and when we attempted to enter using the code, the door was locked, and the office number was closed meaning we could not enter the pool to swim at all. A lovely place, I think the customer experience could be improved with a little more attention

Thank you for your feedback. We're delighted to hear you enjoyed the location, Farm Shop, and found our team friendly and helpful. I've noted the maintenance and housekeeping issues you mentioned and will ensure these are passed to the relevant teams. I'm also sorry that you were unable to access the pool during your booked session. The pool door uses an electronic lock, and for some unknown reason it had lost connection. This is the first time we've experienced this issue, but we will be keeping a close eye on it going forward. Had we known at the time, we would have been happy to offer you an alternative swimming slot. Thank you again for bringing these matters to our attention, and we hope to welcome you back to Graythwaite Estate in the future.

Tired Accommodation That Needs An Uplift

The whole property needs a refurbishment and the furniture and fittings are long past their best. On a positive note the grounds are lovely and there is plenty of easy parking. The shop on site is very handy.

Seriously shabby

A very disappointing stay. Would not recommend. The kitchen is the only room to have been tidied up. Radiators are dodgy. Shower controls broken. Holes in carpet.

Relaxing New Year Break

We took our daughter, son, their husband and wife plus 3 young grandchildren for New Year for the second year running. It is so comfortable with plenty of room. Beds comfortable, kitchen well equipped. Lots to do in the surrounding area, walks from the house, Windermere steamer, Aquarium (if rainy). Some of our family tried clay pigeon shooting on the estate and thoroughly enjoyed it. Lots of other options sound good too. The swimming pool is great - you have to book a session, and they are limited, but it is all yours for that time.

Nice clean cosy and comfortable

Nice place - quite simple but clean and comfortable. Nice big spacious living room, however sofa layout is a bit pokey for the vast room! Quite strange raised platform with a random sofa up there. Not sure how that would be used. Fabulous wood burner that heats the huge living room brilliantly. Lots of board games and books which is a really nice touch. Really lovely new-looking, and well furnished kitchen, everything you need. And lovely that the team left some goodies in the kitchen too: cookies, coffee, tea, jam. Really lovely
