Our family had a great stay, but our older parents had trouble with the stairs. It was cozy and warm. There are many restaurants nearby and a wonderful market. The smaller twin beds in the third are suitable for children. We would stay here again.
While the location is wonderful, and they allowed for an earlier check-in, the property should be listed as a 2 bedroom. The third “room” with the single beds is down a flight of stairs (without a railing) and without a functioning door. Thus, there’s no light, sound nor physical privacy for this “room.” Further, one of the single beds was missing 1/2 of the its slats, which made it unable to be slept on. Further, the room didn’t appear to have been cleaned prior to our checking in, aside from the beds being made. That being said, the other two true bedrooms were as listed. When we notified the host of the issues the resolution was to “let the next guests know” rather than provide any solution to the non-operational bed, stair without railing or absence of a functioning door. Lastly, the number provided for self check in didn’t work, and they didn’t respond on the app, so we had to call the number provided and someone was able to give us a new entry code.
The house is in a great location and is good for a family. We had eight people and one of us had to sleep on the couch so it is better if you have seven or less.. The washing machine was so nice to have but no there is no dryer. You will also need to bring your own toilet paper and paper towels as only one roll is supplied of toilet paper and no paper towels. There is a little store around the corner that we would buy all of our amenities at. Overall, a very good location right over the bridge but would say it is for seven or less and not eight people.
The best part of this apartment is the location. We found it to be reasonably convenient to stores, restaurants, and some sights, though others were a much further walk on the other side of the river. The description is accurate; it is a pretty long walk up the stairs when carrying your suitcases (typical of the older buildings). Otherwise, it was manageable. It is large for a city apartment, which was nice for our family of six.The furnishings were dated (old and worn out). I'd say it was like renting an apartment where your old Italian grandfather used to live. There was charm to it, and it wasn't negative, but understand what you are renting. The AC worked great, but the hot water was intermittent for even the first shower. After renting a few other apartments in Italy, it was nice to have the ability to check in with a door code. That is a big plus - you didn't have to time your arrival to meet anyone. One last piece of advice if you are driving to Florence and need to park a car. Heed the advice of the property manager. We tried to book a parking spot nearby about two weeks in advance for early June, and the two nearby garages were already sold out. Ultimately, we found a garage with availability, but it was about a 20-minute walk, schlepping our suitcases through the streets. Book your parking spot early - they advised me in the email they sent shortly after booking the property, but I didn't see the note until it was too late.
