We had a very nice stay. The outside area and pool was amazing and the bbq and outside dining experience was very good too. My only snag was that we felt the inside furniture was a little tired in places, and some of the kitchen utensils could be upgraded. The main bedroom and ensuite however were excellent, especially with the comfort of the kingsize bed and the soft cotton bedding. Overall we enjoyed our stay and Javier was a perfect host who's communication with us was excellent. The location of the villa is a few kilometres away from the main amenities and beaches, however there is a large Dino supermarket and an Indian restaurant which are both very good and there is also a cafe/bar within a 10 minute walk. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay. Thank you very much Javier..

We had a lovely stay at Villa Alfredina - it had everything we needed and we had a great week. The villa was perfect for us. Very clean. Comfy beds. Pool small but fine for us. Would definitely stay again. Javier was also a very responsive host.

Hi Gill, when you say the house is far away, I don't think it's far from everything, since you have a supermarket 300 meters away, the Rubicon Pier and Golden Beach less than 5 minutes away by car, and the entrance to Papagayo Beach.

A lovely villa in a quiet location

This is a well appointed villa in which we felt at home as soon as we arrived. Despite being a little distance from the centre of Playa Blanca, there was an excellent supermarket nearby along with rla few restaurants and bars. There is also a beautiful walk along the coast to the marina.

Lovely villa

Lovely villa set back from main resort. Was about a 20 minute walk to the marina but very easy to get taxi’s. Villa has all that you need. Will book again

A week in March

Lovely property, bigger than the pictures, felt more residential than a holiday let. Great outdoor space. We swam in the pool even though our weather was mixed.We had a hire car which we were glad of as Villa is on the outer edge of Playa Blanca which wasn’t clear in map location on Vrbo but not an issue …very quiet, safe area.Beds comfortable, showers good, a few extra plates and cutlery would enhance the kitchen. We hope to stay again.

Lovely villa

Spent 11 nights in this very comfortable villa. Great beds and showers. 10 min walk from supermarket and a couple of restaurants. 5 min drive to main shopping/marina area. Rubicon centre well worth a visit or two. Beautiful walk through marina with plenty shops and restaurants. Thank you Javier for being a great host. We would love to return

Villa was well laid out for two couples. Loved the under cover areas outside. Sun is out all day. Pool small but lovely outside area. Could have done with a safe for valuables. Everything else was comfortable. When we first looked for a villa vrbo showed villa as being in vicinity of Dorada beach / centre We didn’t expect the location to be an hour’s walk away near Papago. We had a good time but was different to what we had planned due to location.

I rarely give reviews - good or bad, but on this occasion, I feel compelled to do so. It's not so good, Javier. I'll start off with mentioning the completer absence of any information in the apartment which leads me directly on to the occasion when we left the villa to get something from the car, closed the door and were unable to regain access (the keys to the front door were on the inside in the lock, the door unlocked). We were grateful that your young lady turning up to help. She in turn was unable to gain access with a spare key which led to a wait for a locksmith to attend... who also had to take the lock apart to gain access. It was his opinion that the lock was faulty. Maybe the door locks automatically when you close it? If this was the case, then the minimum I would expect would be for there to be clear instructions within the house or posted on the door.Moving on to other matters, first the location. In good faith I initially booked this villa because of the supposed location close to Playa Blanca (as shown on Google maps). Had I known that it was a distance (almost up into the mountains) I would not have booked it at all. Also hidden behind a wall, the villa was very difficult to find. I found the photographs of the villa misleading, particularly the pool. Some crockery in the kitchen was dirty. The furnishings were tired. I could go on... On the positive side there was a good supply of hot water. Overall not the best experience.

Llevo más de 10 años anunciando mi casa me parece lamentable haber tenido u huésped tan desagradecido como tú Angela y me remito a las puntuaciones de otras huéspedes, yo no tengo culpa que tú te hayas dejado las llaves dentro de la casa y puesta en la cerradura con lo cual no se puede abrir la puerta y haya dejado todo cerrado las puertas del jardín y ventana y yo haya tenido que llamar a un cerrajero que ha cobrado 400€ por ir un sábado por la tarde a solucionar el problema que tú has creado y que tú no has pagado ni un euro, me has pedido la piscina climatizada y ya he tenido preparada incluso te recuerdo que tres días lo he pagado yo con el gasto de energía que eso conlleva al calentar tantos litros de agua, mi casa no está en la montañas está bien indicada en el mapa y en la ubicación de la página de Vrbo, mi cocina no está desgastada como tú dices si no otros huéspedes ya lo hubiesen comentado. Angela no tienes ningún motivo para hacer estos comentarios de mi casa y tampoco sobre mí que en todo momento he intentado que pasaras una muy buenas vacaciones como hago con todos mis huéspedes. Si lo que buscas con tus comentarios es una compensación ya te digo yo que no lo vas a conseguir. Un saludo Javier

Great family experience

Javier was an excellent host. The villa was lovely and great value for money. It’s a 20 minute walk to the marina. 10 minute walk to super market and bus stop that brings you into the centre and it’s every half an hour. Perfect for us as we traveled with 5 adults and one teenager and would definitely return. teenagers

Recommendment for a nice house in Playa Blanca

+: A nice house with good equipment. Beds and bathrooms are very good, kitchen is well equipped with dish washer and everything. The pool is 1,65m deep and nice to swim, though quite small. The Papagayo beaches are a nice walk away or a car drive of 15 minutes. -: the house is away from downtown Playa Blanca, so you need a car or bike. A bus stop is 750m away, Bus Nr. 30 goes every 30 minutes downtown. Taxis are also a cheap alternative.

Warning location not as advertised

We chose this Villa because it looked lovely, and for its location as shown on the Vrbo site, its closeness to the beaches and the Marina, which we thought would be in walking distance. We arrived by taxi to the address which had been given by the owner, we found ourselves at a location that was 2.4 miles away from where we should have been and close to nothing. When we contacted the owner he did acknowledge that the location and information on Vrbo was wrong (which meant he knew of the error). He did say he would correct the listing but as yet it remains the same. So if booking this villa be aware of how far away it is from the amenities and a car or taxi is needed. Its such a shame about the false advertising as the Villa is lovely.

Sehr schönes Haus mit tollem Aussenbereich, in dem man je nach Geschmack sowohl immer einen Sonnenplatz oder einen Schattenplatz findet. Der Pool wird mit einer Spezialfolie abgedeckt und ist deshalb angenehm warm. Die Umgebung ist schön ruhig und man erreicht die wunderbaren Strände des Naturschutzgebietes schnell per Auto (oder sogar zu Fuß in knapp 30 Minuten). Javier ist ein sehr freundlicher Gastgeber, der sofort auf alle unsere Fragen eingegangen ist. Wir kommen ganz bestimmt wieder zurück in die Villa Alfredina!
