Beautiful family/dog friendly cottage - rural setting & Country Club membership.
Skyber Cottage is a sunny, well equipped, spacious cottage for 4 people (+ cots & highchair on request) with 2 superking size or twin bedrooms & 2 modern shower rooms (one ensuite). There is a fully equipped kitchen with a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, oven & hob, a microwave plus everything needed for a self catering holiday. There is a separate dining area and a spacious lounge with leather sofas. There are digital TV's in the lounge and bedrooms, and there is free internet access.
Located on the edge of the beautiful Tamar Valley National Landscape, Rowse Farm is a 17th century Grade II listed farmhouse set in 40 peaceful acres of pasture, woodland & streams, with 3 holiday cottages. The Weary Friar pub is a short walk away and serves lovely pub food. There are many other local places to eat just a short drive away. Also within striking distance of Rowse are some of the West Country's best attractions - the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, the National Maritime Museum, the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth, beaches on both North & South coasts of Cornwall, the Moors, the National Trust houses at Cotehele, Antony, Saltram & Lanhydrock. The historic coastal villages of Looe & Polperro are also nearby. There are too many local walks to list here, but a few of our favourites are along the coastal path from Rame Head to Cawsand and the beautiful National Trust's Lansallos Cove, which is dog friendly all year round.
Cornwall's rugged coastline and quaint villages are the backdrop for many Films, TV series and books. Take time out to explore the literary world of Rosamunde Pilcher, shooting locations for Poldark, Doc Martin and Beyond Paradise, to name a few.

The cottage was wonderful, clean, cozy and well equipped. We very much enjoyed the rural setting. Kristy and Barry are magnificent hosts, responding quickly to any requests. They have prepared guest books with tons of suggestions on local things to do. We stayed there 2 weeks and felt right at home. We highly recommend this venue.

A wonderful time in a beautiful setting. The house was well equipped and the beds were comfortable.
We were returning to the area, lots of local beauty spots, Whitesand bay, Kit Hill and Seaton, to name but a few.

Thank you for taking the time to review Skyber. We work hard to ensure everyone enjoys their holiday here at Rowse, & its important to us to be successful!
We hope to see you again one day - lots to do in this area as you say!
Kind regards
Andrew
We loved our stay at Rowse Farm with a warm welcome, cream tea and peaceful beautiful views. The 2 equally large bedrooms with their own shower rooms at either end of the comfortable kitchen diner and lounge were well supplied to self cater with home comforts of a great hotel supplied ( toiletries, hair drier washing machine etc). Barry and Kirsty were lovely knowledgeable hosts offering recommendations and an information pack. We'd happily go again.
Location is perfect for exploring. Lots of places within an hour with the added bonus of a Michelin starred restaurant a 5 min drive! The bakery is well worth a visit.
Grounds to the accommodation are great. The cottage has everything you need, with the beds in the master bedroom being the comfiest we have slept on for a long while!
The owners are very friendly and accommodating and their suggestions list was superb. We worked through a large portion of them with enough to warrant a second visit soon!
Would highly recommend the cottage, loxwtoon and the owners! Superb break!
This place is stunning! The cottage is immaculate, very clean and tidy. Great Covid processes too which made us feel incredibly safe, especially as we have family members who need to shield. Genuinely do not have any negative feedback - Barry & Kirsty are very welcoming and friendly and provide great knowledge of the area. Lovely little touches in the cottage make it even more comfortable - thick fluffy bath towels, flowers on the dining table, all make this a lovely place to call home during your stay.

Beautifully appointed holiday cottage, close to major routes to the coast.I met up with an old friend and with relatives from Devon and Cornwall and spent a lovely week going down « Memory Lane ! »Barry and Kirsty could not have been more friendly or helpful.Highly recommended.
We were really pleased that we stayed at this beautiful 2 bed property at Pillerton. The hosts, Barry and Kirsty were very efficient with the booking process and follow up emails giving us valuable background information before we even arrived. They greeted us very warmly on arrival and took the time to explain how everything worked and were very knowledgeable on local places to visit, the local beaches, pubs and the back roads! The whole cottage was exceptionally clean and what a nice touch to add a vase of garden flowers on the table , along with a tray for tea and scones with cream and jam. - just what we needed after a long drive. Its the little touches that count and make an extra special stay - the fluffy white towels, nice toiletries, spare loo paper, dvd's to watch, local maps, books and radio (take your own cd's). The beds were amazingly comfortable and the linen so clean and fresh. The information booklet for the cottage was very useful and I think they included everything you could ask for in the local area. The kitchen was well equipped and the garden was delightful - nice and private with table, chairs and loungers. There was even a washing line and drying facilities inside for our wet towels and costumes. We did go to the Leisure Centre close by and had free entry for a swim, sauna and steam, plus a discounted lunch afterwards - do book ahead as it gets busy on a Saturday with swimming lessons. A great treat for a rainy day.
All in all, a really lovely relaxing holiday - we wanted peace and quiet and that's exactly what we got - we would definitely recommend this property and the hosts were so friendly and helpful - we will definitely visit again.
The cottage was perfect, 2 beds, 2 shower rooms, spacious living area and all you needed in a holiday kitchen. Kirsty and Barry were very welcoming and full of helpful information on the local area. Great spot for seeing lots of Cornwall. We managed to visit the local beaches of Seaton and Freethy, Looe and Polperro, Newquay, Padstow, The Eden Project, Adrenaline quarry (a must with kids), Plymouth Barbican and Bodmin, all within an hour or less from the the cottage. Great family break, thank you to Rowse Farm Cottages
The cottage was spotless and very Covid safe, Barry and Kirsty were lovely very welcoming. Our holiday was very relaxed, peaceful with amazing views and woodland walks. I was very nervous being away from home for the first time but I felt very safe thank you

Lovely to have met you both and glad you enjoyed your stay with us. Thank you for leaving the cottage so clean and tidy! Hope to see you again sometime.
My family and I stayed at Rowse Farm towards the end of August. Its a lovely property with private garden and excellent views of surrounding valley. The weather was very mixed for the week with a couple of storms passing through. We still had a couple of sunny days /afternoons on the beach. The hosts were friendly and helpful and always on hand if you needed them. Can recommend this property for a relaxing holiday. There are pubs in the area to eat out at and Eat out to Help Out was on for August.
Really lovely setting burrowed down one of Cornwall’s many narrow lanes with banked sides - with the sunlight dappled by the trees, driving down and up the little valley was quite romantic! Set about halfway down the valley from Pillaton, it’s secluded but easy to get to Plymouth, the coast, Bodmin, I won’t go on......
Couldn’t ask for a cleaner cottage Or easier going and chatty hosts, Barry and Kirsty are very welcoming and full of enthusiasm and information. We were a family with an 11 and 15 year old and, even with a fair amount of rain and wind, there was plenty to do with tree top course, archery, zip wire and karting all nearby. Looking forward to camping up the Taymar but winds put paid to that unfortunately. Easy reach of the Eden Project and Lost Gardens if Heligan and Wenbury but there were plenty of places we could have gone to but didn’t have time.
Plenty of places to eat - Foreign Muck in Saltash had a great atmosphere and food (massive portions) but we lived the short walk up to the Weary Friar in Pillaton as no designated driver required :-)
We cooked in three times though as the kitchen is great and the table enough for four to eat and play cards.
All in all, hugely recommended and I haven’t even mentioned the view over to the Saltash suspension bridge and the walk through the woods at the bottom of the farm (with specially designed bridge!), many local walks and the utter peace tranquility.

hervorragendes Ferienhaus, stilvoll, mit sehr guter Ausstattung, in ruhiger Lage, dennoch gute Erreichbarkeit von Supermärkten, größeren Städten, z.B. Plymouth, und wunderbaren Landschaften. Jederzeit zum Abschalten zu empfehlen

Idyllic bliss!
Fabulous stay at Rowse Farm which is a really tranquil and enjoyable spot. Accommodation was terrific - high quality and specification throughout and spotlessly clean. Hosts were very welcoming and always available if required, but left us to enjoy a restful break and the wonderful surroundings. One of the main appeals is that it's a little off the beaten track - that does mean it's a little drive to get anywhere but it's a price worth paying. Gym and spa membership at nearby China Fleet is an added bonus. Overall, we'd thoroughly recommend.

Schöne Herbstferien in Conrwall

About the host
Hosted by Barry & Kirsty
After meeting on the "Clipper Round The World Yacht Race", and previously spending many years living in the busy cities of London and York, we decided to move to the relaxing West Country to enjoy a better lifestyle. After much research, we bought Rowse - a 400 year old farmhouse & estate. The previous owners had worked hard to restore it and it is now a beautiful home for us & our guests to enjoy. We have continued to improve the cottages and we are passionate about providing luxurious accommodation, to a high standard and with a homely feel that we ourselves would be happy to stay in. We have a number of guests who return to stay with us each year and we take great pride in welcoming both old and new guests to share in the beauty here at Rowse Farm. We love to explore the local area and find new walks (both dog and non-dog friendly!), new pubs and cafés and new places to eat that we can then share with our guests. We thoroughly enjoy living in this special part of the country and we look forward to sharing it with our guests.
Why they chose this property
We fell in love with Rowse because of its secluded, peaceful location & its beautiful 40 acres of woods, pasture, streams & gardens. Often referred to as the "Forgotten Corner" South East Cornwall is one of Cornwall's best kept secrets. The stunning Rame Peninsula, the Tamar Valley, Bodmin and Dartmoor moors are all within easy reach, not to mention the historic Plymouth waterfront, the Hoe and narrow streets of the Barbican. We enjoy dog walking around Rowse and often take the short drive to Downderry Beach or Tregantle Beach in Whitsand Bay, which are dog friendly all year round. Siblyback Lake up on Bodmin moor isn't too far away and the yummy Olive & Co café there is a real treat! We are confident that you will enjoy your stay at Rowse Farm and all the West Country has to offer!
What makes this property unique
Rowse Farm is surrounded by beautiful, peaceful countryside, ideal for exploring by foot or just kicking back and relaxing in the cottage gardens. Main road routes are only a short drive away, so a day out to the beaches at Seaton, Downderry and Whitsand Bay or trips to Cotehele House, Pentillie Castle, Lanhydrock and the Eden Project are all within easy reach. Rowse really does offer the best of both worlds - tranquility in and around the cottage, or the more populated beaches and visitor attractions. Lots of our guests enjoy a few days out and about and then balance it with a few days chilling out and enjoying the wildlife and seclusion that Rowse has to offer.
