Absolutely fantastic stay

We had a wonderful weekend stay at Gardner's Cottage celebrating a number of birthdays in the family. The location of the house is idyllic and the gardens are beautiful - Alfie the dog particularly enjoyed them and was safe and enclosed to run around. The house has several reception rooms downstairs which was perfect for a family get-together as we could all find our own space when we needed it. Every room was tastefully decorated and comfortable. As a keen cook I was looking forward to using the kitchen and found it the most well-equipped kitchen in a holiday rental that we'd stayed in - coffee pods were provided for the Nespresso machine, the two ovens worked brilliantly and the size of the kitchen meant no tripping over each other. The bedrooms were all very well presented and everyone slept well - it's so quiet! We had the most wonderful time and would definitely return to Gardner's Cottage!

Glorious stay

We had a wonderful stay at Gardners house, it’s in a idillic, peaceful location with a well stocked community store and cafe nearby - much recommended for a cup of tea and tea cake. The local area has some great walks with views from the Ilmington downs of Birmingham, Warwick and Leamington on the horizon. The house is a good size and the owners very friendly and helpful, it’s dog friendly and the garden is completely enclosed. I wish I could have stayed!

Fantastic Accommodation

Gardners Cottage is a really lovely house set in a beautiful village. Two great pubs and a shop within walking distance which means you don't even need to leave the village, however Stratford is only a short drive away and a great place to visit. Communication has been great and the owner was very helpful. A perfect place to get together with some good friends, we would all highly recommend. Thank you.

A superlative stay

Eight adults who first met at university between 1967 and 1971 so now all over seventy five and well traveled in the UK and overseas met up for an annual three days get together. The cottage and its location had been chosen carefully so it was anticipated it would be good. What we actually experienced was superlative. An innovative restoration, fastidiously maintained. Comfortable beds. Good showers. Spacious inside and outside. This cottage is gold standard.

Family weekend

We thoroughly enjoyed our family weekend at Gardners Cottage. It is a beautiful cottage, spacious, well equipped and tastefully decorated. The kitchen, dining area was very spacious The bedrooms all had en-suite facilities, which is a godsend with 3 couples and a baby! The village of Ilmington is a lovely friendly village with a village shop, 2 pubs and plenty of walks. Oli, who was our contact, was very helpful and answered any questions I had. Would most definitely recommend a stay in Gardners Cottage and booking with StayCotswold

Beautiful Property

Immaculately presented property, perfectly blending the old with the new. Situated in a lovely garden that was a pleasure to sit in or just admire from inside the property. A beautiful village location with two lovely pubs, within 10 minutes walking distance. Excellent community shop, surprisingly well stocked, with a cafe and fresh morning pastries. We have already recommended the property to friends and hope to make a return visit in the future.

Cotswold family break

This was a perfect cottage for our family get together. We are all over sixty so four bedrooms and four bathrooms was great and so no need to share. The bedrooms were very comfortable, generous sized beds good bed linen and fluffy thick towels. The showers were good with plenty of hot water. The kitchen was well equipped we would have liked a colander and my brother a small washing up bowl for glasses but generously and thoughtfully equipped. The outlook onto the garden was light and airy so though it was rainy at times we had a lovely view and additional seating to sit and read was great. In fact we used the kitchen in this way more than the snug. The parking at the cottage was good yes we could get 4 vehicles in but a bit of a squeeze but again an electric charging point was a great addition. This is an excellent venue for a break in the Cotswolds, not far to Moreton in the Marsh, Burford and Stratford and great local walks too. I think for grown up family get togethers or friends meeting up for a weekend away this is a lovely lovely place to stay and would definitely return.

Lovely cottage in a delightful village

The cottage was ideal for our family reunion. The cottage is beautifully presented it is not just well thought out and full equipped but has plenty of 'wow' as the owners have gone several extra miles. The location in the village is a real plus as you can walk to the two welcoming pubs as well as the very impressive community cafe and shop. The village has its own understated charm and has easy access to lots of visitors attractions.

The house was amazing, just right for our needs. Community shop so lovely and welcoming too. We had a great relaxing time. One friend even rang the church bells with the villagers which she loved.Minor criticism a few pieces of cutlery and crockery short for a 3 course table setting. No table mats, no garlic crusher! All in all fabulous, golf and gardens and places to visit within easy reach. Thank you so much.

A beautiful cottage in a lovely village

As a group of friends we were delighted with the cottage and location. Two pubs/restaurants within a short stroll were charming with good food. Beautiful dog friendly garden with comfortable seating/dining options. The Community shop was incredible with everything you need and more. This is a real gem.

A perfect getaway.

Our stay was to celebrate a birthday with all of the family. The bedroom and bathroom situation was perfect. The kitchen and dining area was everything we wanted as was the cosy lounge. We also had lovely weather so we were able to enjoy the garden. The quality of the renovation on the property was very much appreciated. We found the kitchen to be very well equipped and appreciated having plenty of plates, cutlery and glasses. We were provided with a high chair but a travel cot would have been appreciated. We also used the open fire in the evening which was an added bonus. The house is in a beautiful village which we really enjoyed exploring.

Excellent Property

We loved Gardners Cottage which we booked for a week when attending a family wedding nearby. It is a beautifully renovated, spacious house in a lovely, Cotswold village and it easily accommodated our family of eight adults, a baby and two dogs. We loved having four bedrooms and four bathrooms as well as a well-equipped kitchen and a pretty, enclosed garden where we could relax in the sunshine. The utility room had full laundry facilities which we appreciated. We enjoyed exploring the village, visiting the community shop, eating out at the two local pubs (within walking distance) and visiting Stratford-upon-Avon. There’s nothing we didn’t like about this property and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again if we happened to be back down this way. It exceeded our expectations. Fabulous!

A Piece of Paradise in the Cotswolds

We are seasoned holiday cottage renters, with very high standards and expectations; Gardner's Cottage exceed our expectations, in every way. Benefitting from the very highest standard of building, materials and workmanship, this is 4 bedroom/ 4 bathroom luxury cottage is a rare find; nestled in a beautiful, peaceful garden, within the lovely village of Ilmington, whose village shop and two excellent pubs cater for virtually every need & taste - with plenty of walks, places of interest, etc., in the local area. The outdoor entertaining area and BBQ made for happy summer evenings; the beautiful open hearth fire would make a winter stay very cosy. The owner - Oli - is also the most proactive (and responsive) host we have had the pleasure to be hosted by; nothing is too much trouble, every detail is taken care of - and, in the unlikely event you find something not quite right, Oli puts it right almost immediately. Gardner's Cottage made for an outstanding family reunion - and Oli was super helpful in enabling an early check-in for our travel-weary Australian contingent! A real gem, we will book Gardner's Cottage again.

Lovely home in a wonderful village

None of us wanted to leave. The house is of the highest standard, the village is delightful, the walks are wonderful and the whole area has loads of things to do. Three generations of the family plus the dog had such a good time. So much attention to detail and comfort has been given to the house and garden, we really couldn't want for anything. It is definitely a cut above the average. Would highly recommend. We shall be returning.
