About this property

Lower Old Farmhouse (Sleeps 4-6)

Lower Old Farmhouse is situated on the ground floor of the former Farm Manager’s residence.

It has one super-king double bedroom and one twin bedroom. The bathroom has a separate shower and bath. The kitchen is well equipped with fridge/freezer, dishwasher etc to make your stay as comfortable as possible and there is a sofa bed in the living room. This accommodation has a rear door from the living room leading onto the garden.

Our short breaks run Friday to Monday and Monday to Friday. During the summer school holidays we only accept full week bookings with changeover day on Fridays. During off peak season we can accept short breaks of 2 to 6 nights commencing on each day of the week.

Another great visit

This was the third time we have stayed at Portclew Cottages. The fact that we have returned and not looked for alternative accommodation says it all. It is situated in a very quiet location close to beaches and towns for supermarket shopping. Parking is right outside the front door. The property is clean, spacious and well equipped. There is nothing not to like and we will be returning

Lovely accommodation

We had a lovely stay in the Lower Old Farmhouse. The accommodation was great, very clean, provided with travel cots and high chairs which was really helpful. The location was brilliant for getting to the beach as well as travelling around to other places. Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again.

This was our second time staying at Portclew Cottages. The hosts are so welcoming and the cottages so nicely done. Everything you need, cosy environment. Absolutely love the location with the duck pond and surrounding fields. Hope to stay again.

Portclew Cottage September 2023

We had great week with lovely weather most of the time. The cottage had everything we needed and was close to beaches and the coastal path. Only small complaint was the TV which we didn't use. Most of the places we have stayed in recent years have had smart tvs which we've got used to. A week of ipad watching was enough. Lovely farm location

A quiet few days away to relax

We enjoyed our stay at the Lower Farmhouse. There were 3 of us and the size was perfect. It was clean and tidy. We didn’t see the hosts which suited us as we just wanted a quiet get away. The weather was pretty stormy but it didn’t matter - when the sun came out there were rainbows! Our Alpaca-trek was cancelled but Pembroke Castle is gorgeous and Tenby is lovely with a very cool Napoleonic fort on the beach. It’s easy to walk down to Freshwater East beach and we had the beach to ourselves. The kitchen is well equipped and the oven easy to use. There is a TV with enough channels to find something to watch on a rainy evening and we took games with us. The sofas are lovely and comfortable. We found the mattress on the double bed a little bit soft and collapsed. The bathroom is lovely. There is a washing machine and dryer. There’s a hairdryer provided in a drawer. You can hear people walking around and scraping chairs in the upstairs apartment but it’s not really bothersome. There is lots of info in the cottage about where to eat or get takeaways. We enjoyed our stay. We stayed in the Hen House some years ago now and would definitely come back again!
