Enjoyed the 8 days we stayed in this nicely decorated, clean and comfortable cottage.
Good-sized bedroom with a comfortable bed and a great closet which makes it easy to have suitcases out of the way and lots of space to hang and store clothes.
Bathroom is nice sized also, with lots of space and shelves/areas to put stuff on. I LOVED the electric shower, water was warm with little to no wait.
Kitchen had a separate freezer from the fridge, the dishwaher, range, oven, and washer/dryer are all decent-sized. There were netspresso pods for the coffee machine.
You do need to be careful on the stairs, maybe wear grippy socks and make sure to hold on to the rails provided.
It was a bit chilly for us, so we used the boiler, heating the cottage plus provided a nice atmosphere with the fire.
We would definitely stay here again. It was a good spot to explore some of the more mid to northern England areas like Durham and York. The road is quiet with bicyclists, horses and a few cars that go by. The windows are great at reducing outside noise.
You will probably need a car, but there is a gas station within walking distance with a decent selection of grocery items. We bought those chef-prepared meals that we could warm up in the oven several times. Also within walking distance there is a cafe in the garden center that had a great traditional English breakfast.
Nicola is a great host and was very responsive to our questions. We really enjoyed our restful stay at the cottage.
The property was very comfortable, very clean, and based in a very peaceful area. Quirky but in a nice way. Easily accessible and the owner was on hand if required.
Lovely village, small cottage suitable for couple.
Stairs are challenging, might not suit everyone,
We, both over 60 had no problem. Property owner was very helpful, especially with parking on arrival.
It was the perfect location to attend a oarty at Ellerker Hall. The stairs as described on the online listing are steep and narrow so maybe not suitable for heavy luggage. It was good for a short stay.
We found the property easily with no problems. and were surprised how lovely and cosy it was. everything was provided that you would need for a holiday, the kitchen was very well equipped like a home from home! The sofa and chair in lounge were very relaxing and the bed very comfortable, there was some info on places to go and Nicola was helpful with ideas, we had a lovely stay exploring the area we would definitely stay again. Thank you
Superbly equipped, quaint cottage in a picture postcard perfect village.
We loved our week stay at Hobbit Hole in Ellerker. The cottage itself was full of cosy character features including log burner fireplace, extremely comfy sofa and exposed stone walls. The tasteful, well equipped kitchen had everything we needed during our stay. Upstairs the well fitted, comfortable bedroom led through to a luxurious en suite bathroom. The whole place was a real home from home. The situation of the cottage was perfect in the gorgeous little village of Ellerker with plenty to see and do in the area. Ideally placed for us to explore the nearby market towns of Beverley and Howden, the beautiful Yorkshire coast and buzzing Kingston upon Hull. Nic, the owner, was very attentive making us extremely welcome and keen to ensure we had everything we needed for a great stay. Thanks again for a fabulous holiday in a beautiful area - looking forward to a return visit!
We have just got back from a short break here for my girlfriend's birthday. The owner was nothing short of wonderful. Came to introduce herself as soon as we arrived and ask if we needed anything. She had put up banners for my girlfriend for our arrival like I asked her to. Couldn't be more pleased. Such a beautiful location for a lovely cottage.
Hobbit Hole war ein guter Ausgangspunkt um uns in diesem Teil Yorkshires umzusehen.
Nette gemütliche Behausung für zwei.

Petite but beautiful
We loved our short stay at Hobbit Hole. It was our first time in the area and I’m sure it won’t be our last. There are some lovey walks and we found Hull was a great city. Hobbit Hole is delightful and it was spotlessly clean. The booking process was easy and our host was very helpful when we couldn’t find the hot water switch even though she was away herself. We had wonderful weather so didn’t need to use the wood burning fire but I bet Hobbit Hole would be really cosy in the cooler weather. Cannot wait to return.

Charming Cottage
We enjoyed our stay in East Riding which was made all the better by our self-catering cottage which is in the Conservation Village of Ellerker near Brough and just 10 miles from Hull (This years “City of Culture 2017”). Hobbit Hole is very comfortable for 2 people with a spacious lounge and Kitchen/Diner (Just for 2). A good Size Fridge with matching freezer meant we only needed to shop once for our week’s supplies. A Dishwasher, Washer/Drier, Microwave, Ceramic Cooker and Oven are all provided. Upstairs is a spacious Bedroom and Bathroom with ample room for our clothes. We can recommend Hobbit Hole to anyone wanting to stay near Hull.

Lovely little house in an attractive and very quiet village
Nicola was friendly and helpful, providing extra wood for the fire. The cottage is lovely and each room is tastefully decorated. The staircase isn't user friendly but you soon get used to it, just remain alert!
We visited Beverley, York, Bridlington and Crayke and had a lovely break.

Very comfortable
This is a lovely little terraced house in a beautiful village. The furniture was of good quality. The sitting room was comfortable and the kitchen was very well appointed with everything one could require. There is plenty of hanging and shelf space in the bedroom. The bathroom is a decent size and has a bath and an in-bath shower. The only drawback is a very narrow and steep spiral staircase. I was fine with it but if anyone has a mobility problem they would have great difficulty getting upstairs and I have 1 friend who would not have managed the stairs and it would probably be a good idea to underline this fact. It is not possible to carry a suitcase upstairs in a normal way. You either have to push it ahead of you or drag it behind you.
Ellerker itself is a beautiful village. It is extremely well kept. The residents obviously take great pride in where they live.
The owner lives nearby and is very friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back

Why they chose this property
Lovely quiet location with easy access to motor way and surrounding cities. Great location if you like walking, Wolds away! Cycling, transpenine way! Not far from the market towns of South Cave, Market Weighton & Beverley, York is a 35 minute drive away, buses go to all locations from South Cave plus twice a week from outside the cottage.
What makes this property unique
Walking, cycling, horse riding. Visiting local attraction like the Deep in Hull, historic market towns like Beverley close by. York very close for a day trip. Leeds a short train ride or if driving 45minutes. Charming cottage just great to chill out in, fantastic in the winter as it is cosy with the wood burning stove on, plus cool in the summer thanks to the thick stone cottage walls.
