7500 Sq Ft home with 3 floors- Saturday to Saturday summer rental.


Beautiful family vacation or corporate rental home on Lake Gaston! Inside recently painted! House is equipped with TV (Roku or smart TV's) plus wireless internet service.

Nestled in a low-traffic cove with quick access to the main thoroughfare. It is located in one of the most highly sought for areas of the lake which is the NE quadrant of Lake Gaston. Golfing is nearby. Public access boat ramp 5 minutes up River Rd and is maintained by Dominion Power for public use.   You are welcome to bring your boat or jet ski's but we do not have a boat lift available for renter usage. Space is limited for tie up since we do house the pontoon boat there. (There is room to tie up 1 boat or 2 jet skis)

2 Pet Limit (50 lbs and under) $150 fee per pet, dogs required to be on leashes outdoors. We request not allowing pets on the furniture but if that cannot be avoided please bring sheets to cover furniture. You will be responsible to pick up and dispose of all dog waste.

Has a lot of amenities such as pool table, ping pong table, foosball table, air hockey and Vegas style card table with chips. Plenty of room for everyone to spread out and have fun.
Gas grills available on Main Deck and lower deck.

Over 20 beds plus couches and pull-outs, this is one of the largest year-round properties on the lake! The first and second floor have full kitchens, the third floor has sink, microwave and full refrigerator.

BEDROOMS: The Main floor has 2 master bedrooms. One with a king bed and on with a queen bed. The Bottom floor has 2 bedrooms. One with a king bed and the other bedroom has both a king and queen bed. The 3rd floor has 3 bedrooms. The first is a master bedroom with a king bed. The second is a regular room with a queen bed and the third is a regular room with 2 twin beds. The kids cove (BIG ROOM) on the 3rd floor has the following: 2 queen beds, 4 lofts with the following: Lower loft #1: 2 full beds Lower loft #2: 3 twin beds Upper loft #1: 3 twin beds Upper loft #2: 2 twin beds and a kids tent. This is a fun room giving the kids so many great memories. The third floor also have a full pull out sleeper sofa in the game room area.

The pictures will speak for themselves. The house is packed full of WOW moments for the whole family, regardless of age. This property allows for everyone to spread out or come together as they please with plenty of room.

It is located on a huge wooded lot on the water and is centrally located near the mouth of our famous "Pea Hill Creek," less than 5 minutes from Washburn's Marina.

On the water, we have a double boathouse complete with an upper deck for sunning. No jumping allowed from top deck.

Due to the size of the house and # of beds you have the choice to bring your own bed sheets and towels, otherwise let us know and we can provide those items for a fee. Sheets ($150) and towels ($100). We do recommend to bring beach towels for use at the lake. Our bath towels must not be used outside the home. We do provide comforters and pillows. There will be one roll of toilet paper in each bathroom and one roll of paper towels in each kitchen. After those are used it is up to renter to supply.

So, come on down, ready to chill and grill, swim, fish, relax and soak up the most beautiful lake Carolina has to offer. Build those memories for your family and friends.

We had a blast here at lake Gaston. Our family of 25-31 people get together every 2 years and this location fit us perfectly. Plenty of room to spread out into separate groups while also having room to all come together nightly for games and chatting.

Just spent another amazing week at Tropical Paradise with friends and family. The location is perfect being close to Washburns marina for the younger kids daily milkshake runs and off the main lake just enough to float all day peacefully! The game room and loft area is perfect for kids ranging from 6-26 and never feels overcrowded. The owner is amazing and checks in frequently to make sure all is well. We are already planning next summers trip to Tropical Paradise again!

Fabulous Vacation!

There were 16 family members and this house was perfect! Lots of room to enjoy ping pong, air hockey and of course, floating in the lake visiting with everyone! Location was wonderful…easy to get to the main lake. The owner might just be my new best friend…she was so sweet and outgoing! Appreciate the responsiveness of Lupita in answering questions and getting the house ready! We have been doing these family vacations for over 20 years and this was the best ever! Thank you!

Lake perfection

This home has everything! My brother and I take our families every other year to the beach or lake. This home was perfect for all the different ages and so comfortable. Large kitchen and living areas, great for a large group. I would highly recommend this rental. The hostess is always available to answer questions if needed. The amount of amenities was incredible.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I would suggest that there be some instructions for the pontoon boat. It was not the typical put in key and go. Once that issue was resolved we enjoyed our outing on the lake Bees were a problem suggest you bring spray

Memorable week

Despite Hurricane Debbie trying to put a damper on our stay, our group still managed to have a great time at our annual Lake Gaston trip. The house in itself was in a great location and had easy access to the stores nearby. Other than a few less than comfortable beds and lack of storage/pantry for a week long stay, the house had all the amenities and room to accommodate our large group. It never felt like we were on top of one another. Sonya and Lupita were very communicative throughout the whole process and that was most appreciated.

Great for big group of “kids”

Great house for families. Enough space and separation for both the kids and adults. The top floor was perfect for all children to sleep and play. The basement was great for the adults, the poker room was bigger than shown in the pictures. Main floor had the big kitchen, which was big enough for several people to work it at the same time and was fully stocked. We were lucky with the weather in December, so also got full use the fire pit, the dock and the kayaks. Owner was very responsive, answering our questions right away.

Large family reunion.

This spacious house was perfect for our large family to stay for a few nights. The house has enough beds and fully equipped kitchen for everyone. The view of the lake is beautiful and there are tons of activities to do depending on the season. We enjoyed the hot tub and taking a walk around the area. The huge kids room and game room was a big hit amongst the kids. The owners are very responsive and easy to communicate with. The house could be better organized and way less cluttered. Other than that, we had a great time and would recommend for large groups.

Best location on the lake

This house was perfect for our extended family of 23 people. (17 adults and 6 kids). Communication with the owner, Sondra, was easy and prompt. The amenities offered at Tropical Paradise made packing for this annual trip, a lot easier than in past years. Here are things we didn't have to pack by staying here. Bath towels, bed sheets, paddle boards, kayaks, extra cookware, outdoor lawn chairs. Sondra really wants to make your experience a dream, and does a great job providing everything you need. She gave us the tools, and we made it happen. In the 13 years we have been making this trip, this house had, by far, the most to offer. Thank you Sondra.

Amazing vacation home!

This is a very special home that accommodated our group of 14 adults + 14 children really well. Some of the house highlights include: super-cool kid room, 3 separate and spacious indoor living rooms, many indoor games (Foosball, air hockey, ping pong and poker table), Netflix, firepit, plenty of open space, awesome sun deck above the boat dock, plenty of kitchen ware (plates, utensils, bowls, mugs, pots, pans, casseroles, serving ware, small appliances, etc), cleaning supplies (broom, dish soap, sponges, etc) ... the house had everything we needed to have a great time! Sarah, the property manager, was very responsive, thoughtful and kind. It was great working with her. I highly recommend coming here with a big group! Make sure you book enough days ... you (and especially the kids) are not going to want to leave!!

Avoid like the Plaque.....or the worms on the bottom floor

Property ID 1163051, Titled” 7500 sq ft, 20+Beds Kayaks/Paddle boards for rent on location- Pets Welcome!” First off, my family and I are accustomed to taking week-long vacations and have done so for over 20 years; I have left reviews for almost every place. I have never had to write a review such as this – so much to say. Grab a beer, this will be a long one. I want the reader (you) to understand my frustrations with this place so that you are better prepared for the experiences you will encounter when you rent it. Secondly, I should tell you that we are your typical middle-class family, comprised of approx. 18 people. None of us are the fancy, “I’m better than you” type, nor can we afford to be. We all save our money each year to experience one week-long get away per year. This property was our destination this year – I’m sad that our memories are already tarnished by the filth discovered within this property. Here is my listing of issues encountered: Bottom floor: 1. Bottom floor was completely covered in these small caterpillar-like creatures. We picked up a few the first day and by the end of the trip, there was literally 100’s of them. Each bedroom and bathroom and kitchenette had them crawling all over. Main Floor: 1. Main floor kitchen, one bottom drawer is broken and doesn’t slide in – deff don’t pull it out. 2. Main Floor kitchen Ice maker in the door doesn’t work and never produced a single cube while we were there. 3. False Eyelashes were left on the counter in the main floor’s bathroom by previous guests (health hazard.) 4. Under cabinet lights in main kitchen area are wired unprofessionally, drape down and lack any means to turn them on or off. 5. Sunroom doorknob doesn’t latch. You must use the deadbolt to keep the door closed. 6. The sunroom AC never worked while we were there and was turned into a storage room as it was unusable for normal 7. Grill on main floor was very dirty and debris in bottom of grill caught on fire and had to be extinguished. We had to clean the grill before we could use it. 8. Main floor kitchen was absolutely disgusting upon arrival and required us to clean several dishes upon arrival. Counters and glass table had obviously been gone over with a dirty sponge or washcloth. Hand and fingerprints all over the table made it hard to believe it had been cleaned at all. 9. Multiple stools on the main floor have either loose or missing bolts and are very wobbly.
