Devine wooden beamed cottage in the heart of England’s best preserved medieval village - Weavers Cot
A divine 15th Century cottage in the heart of England’s best preserved Medieval village. Originally home to a loom weaving wool, the cottage oozes ancient charm from its extensive historic wooden beams, irregular flooring and cozy fireplace. The open plan layout makes great use of the space and natural light while retaining its warm and enveloping character. Being up a hill on a quiet street with rural views over a lovely garden makes for a wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle in a uniquely Lavenham style. With a walk-through bunk-room the cottage is ideally suited to a young family or a couple looking for a romantic getaway, though can also accommodate four adults. Ground Floor Sitting Room – A two-seater sofa and two large armchairs surround a traditional fireplace and large smart TV. Under the TV is a cabinet with a microwave. Kitchen & Dining Room – Open plan to the sitting room, there is a butlers sink, undercounter fridge/freezer, electric oven with four hobs, toaster and kettle. The kitchen table has adjustable flaps and seating for four. There is a door onto the elevated terrace. Utility Cupboard – Contains a washing machine. Bathroom – Bath, water-fall shower, lavatory and hand basin. First Floor Bunk Bedroom – With two single bunks and is used to access the Master Bedroom. Master Bedroom – King-sized bed with matching bedside tables & lamps, hanging cupboard and desk with views over the garden and rolling countryside beyond. Staircase – Is old and steep so not recommended for those with restricted mobility. There is a secure gate at the top to prevent any accidental falls. Outside Terrace – Straight outside the kitchen with a table and seating for four, a large gas (provided) BBQ and retractable parasol. Garden – Down a sloping path is access to a private lawned area surrounded by mature plants and hedging.

Weavers Cottage is charming, cosy, clean and in a wonderful location. We loved staying there with all the quirks of an historic property. Perfect for a getaway for a couple and right in the centre of Lavenham.

A lovely cottage for 2 people
We had a lovely week over Christmas - the cottage is very cute (smaller than it looks in the photos) but is ideal for a couple. Warm comfortable and a great location in the centre of Lavenham.

Weavers Cottage
This is the third time I have stayed in Weavers Cottage. It a lovely comfortable home from home the only problem with it is the stairs not at all suitable for someone disabled. Lavenham is an interesting place to visit.
