Sea Captains apartment is conveniently located in town, a 10 minute walk to the hub of Main St. This comfortable 1804 residence features 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, kitchen, living room, outdoor shower, small yard and gas grill. Those with a passion for history will find Nantucket the perfect spot to experience the preserved period town architecture. This house is in an amazing location! A short walk into town and easy to get Ubers to explore the rest of the island. Was perfect for our family weekend away!
I rented this property for a bachelor weekend trip. It had everything we needed for 10, with a comfortable kitchen and living room, great backyard seating area and perfect location for enjoying downtown Nantucket. Owner was very responsive and helpful.
Very convenient location to stay on Nantucket. 10-15 min walk to the ferry, town, restaurants, nightlife and shops. The house itself is very old and a bit small (comfortable for a group of 6, but can sleep more). It was very clean and beds are comfortable. Very pleased with our stay!
Ants galore!Wifi went down, sink not draining in bathroom,no pick up of garbage from previous tenant, no counter space to cook, backyard could use a cleanup and we had to Gerry rig a curtain so you couldn’t see someone taking a shower outside!
You can’t beat the location of this home. It has everything you need for a great stay on the island. The owner is very responsive and helpful. Highly recommend this place.
Stayed at this cozy historic home, blocks from downtown Nantucket for the annual Christmas stroll. Enjoyed our 4 day stay for this event. The house satisfied our requirements for this holiday celebration. Property manager Ed was readily available for any questions/needs. Thank Ed!!!!
great place to hang for a few days. we were in town for some fishing and it met all our needs. lot's of beds if you're looking to take a crowd (we only had 5)
The proximity to town was really ideal as we could easily walk. We did not have a car on the island and it wasn't necessary as we were within walking distance to everything we needed. We only took Ubers when we were going across the island.
This is a great location. The house is chopped up with someone living on the first floor, don't try to use the front door or you will see a make-shift kitchen! The house is quite old which does add to it charm but has not been maintained. The outdoor shower did not work, there was some mold in the MRI sized second floor shower and the toilet sink combination required you to be double jointed, I will say that the washer and dryer and stove were new! There is plenty of beds which was great. In summary you get what you pay for so if you are looking for a great location and can overlook the very modest accomidations then go for it.
We were not aware that there was an attached (occupied) “apartment” to the house. “Apartment” being that the house was at some point poorly separated into two illegal residences. We walked in through the front door to someone else’s kitchen. There was a connecting door with NO lock on it. The house was extremely dark, small, and felt very unkempt. The back area was filled with garbage for the first few days. The tiny backyard was overgrown. Clearly the property is not taken care of. We have rented twice a year on Nantucket for the past 15 years and this is not the Nantucket charm that people are looking for. Luckily we had friends that we could stay with for the final week. This house requires significant renovations done by licensed contractors to warrant the price listed per week. We are very disappointed with our stay.

Liked: Location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Cleanliness, communication
A lot of small issues
Perfect for what we needed ( fishing trip ).
Sleep 12 adults comfortably.
HOWEVER.....
check in was at 4pm, We should up at 6pm,
To the cleaning people still cleaning and doing sheets.
A water leak that collapsed the ceiling
The maintenance person trying to fix the hole while we were trying to unpack and settle in.
Left over food from the previous renters in refrigerator and on table.
Broken WiFi
And zero communication with the owner throughout this whole process.
We stayed as part of the Memorial Day Weekend Sailing Race, called the FIGAWI. Excellent location, everything we expected, and perfect for our brief family getaway.

Perfect for big groups
This is the second time I've stayed at this house for a weekend wedding. It is clean and perfect for big groups with tons of beds! The location is perfect as well. Walking distance to town and Mid-island conveniences like the super market, etc.

Lovely charming and perfect
We came out to the island to celebrate my 30th birthday, the house was exactly what we needed for a weekend stay. Everyone was ecstatic about the outdoor shower with ample hot water and cute little back yard. The amenities were just the right. The house was clean and spacious enough to keep everyone comfortable and the location was a perfect "home base." If it wasn't for work we would have extended our stay. Thank you so much for your hospitality. :)

Great location, exactly what we needed
Great location on Orange Street close to both town and other attractions in the opposite direction. Great proximity to newly-renovated Cumberland Farms for quick needs for waters, etc. Charming old house with nice outdoor area and room to park a car.

Great Stay
We had a great time staying at the Captains Home. There is a small, but nice patio in the backyard with a grill and several places to sit. The house fits plenty of guests and we really enjoyed our stay! We had about 10 guests and we all fit comfortably and had a bed. It was a great location and easily walkable to town or a quick uber ride away. Thank you!
