About this property

Host & Stay | Goathland at the Sandbeck

Summary:

Goathland is situated within the Sandbeck, a large, fully renovated seafront Victorian house located on Whitby’s West Cliff overlooking the beach and outer harbour. It proudly boasts the best apartments, studios and guest rooms in Whitby with the best sea views.

Guests are offered a complimentary continental style breakfast of cereals, juices, tea, coffee, biscuits and yoghurts.

The Space:

Goathland is a well-decorated twin room at the rear of the Sandbeck. The room has all new décor and a new ensuite shower room. This is one of the value rooms due to being at the rear of the building and having no sea views.

This second floor room is great for two friends and perfect for short stays. It can be used along with Ruswarp, Sleights or Grosmont if you need an extra family room for teenagers or other friends/family members.

The shower room comes with shower, WC and wash basin.

Guest Access:

Guests have access to the Sandbeck and all its amenities including the outside BBQ Area, guest laundry and games cupboard.

The room keys are in a key lock box in the hall.

Goathland at the Sandbeck is located on the second floor.

Parking is on-street via a scratch card that can be purchased on site.

The Neighborhood:

The Sandbeck is on the seafront of Whitby’s West Cliff. It is in a central location for the beach, harbour and many of Whitby’s attractions. It is a short walk to Captain Cook’s Monument and the Famous Whalebones overlooking the harbour.

Walk a little further and down the Khyber Pass steps and you’ll be at the harbour and the quayside with all its amusements, cafes, bars and famous fish and chips shops and restaurants. Alternatively take a stroll along the West Pier and look back at your accommodation on the West Cliff.

To the front is the path down to the Blue Flag West Cliff beach and the Whitby Pavilion with its many events.

The town centre and all its shops, cafes and restaurants are close by.

Getting Around:

Whitby is easily accessible by road and rail, making it an ideal base for exploring the surrounding areas. Whether you're looking to explore the nearby coastal villages, or simply relax and enjoy the tranquil seaside atmosphere, Whitby offers something for everyone.

Clean room. Good location, within 5 minutes walk to town centre. Only down side was that The lift wasn’t working on our stay and we were on the 2nd floor, it didn’t really both us but if anyone had heavy bags it would have been a struggle up the stairs. No communication from the host before our stay to say the lift was out of order. Would Recommend having black out blinds or curtains installed in addition to the vertical blinds already at the windows, too much light in the room early in the mornings at this time of the year! However we would consider staying again.
