Lilly's Pad
Lilly’s Pad sits on the side of the beautiful Bush Valley surrounded by peaceful countryside yet just a short distance from Bude town centre and the Atlantic coast highway. Its situated at the end of a public bridleway one direction to a stream continuing over the fields with just sheep & cows for company. The other direction the historic town of Stratton and its quaint pubs are just a 15 minute walk with beautiful sea views in the distance. Lilly’s Pad has an open plan living/ Kitchen / bedroom with a walk in shower bathroom. Just outside is a private decking with patio furniture to enjoy the views over the countryside and the abundance of wild life, along with a BBQ and Fire Pit. The Kitchen is well equipped with a fridge, microwave & air fryer; there is a smart flat screen television, DVD and comfortable seating. All linen, towels and toiletries are provided, along with tea, coffee milk and biscuits, and a breakfast basket is available at an extra cost.
There is also ample parking, and you will be surrounded with our free range chickens.
Bude itself is a waterside paradise, boasting a canal complete with working locks and two beaches. Bordering Devon, Bude is the essential chilled-out holiday destination in North Cornwall. It has a quirky town centre, with two sandy beaches and a sea pool, you are never short of places to explore.
Bude Sea Pool was created in the 1930s to provide a haven for safe swimming. The pool sits under the spectacular cliffs and is refreshed twice a day by the waves of the Atlantic.
Walkers will be in heaven here as Bude is set on the South West Coast Path, you can stroll along the cliff-tops to explore the area. Spectacular routes lead you along the coast, avid hikers, check out the route from Bude to Brackington Haven or to Hartland Quay.
For novice Surfers, Bude is a great place to learn. The town’s two beaches, Summerleaze and Crooklets, are perfect for beginners. You can hire boards and wetsuits at the renowned local surf shop.
Bude town has a diverse mix of restaurants, traditional pubs and a relaxed vibe. In the nearby village of Stratton, you’ll find The Tree Inn, a charming old pub with a beautiful beer garden. Serving scrumptious local ales and ciders, this is a fine choice for afternoon tipple.
For shopaholics, Bude’s independent shops and boutiques are the ideal places to pick up a gift. The Wharf, set on the canal, is full of craft shops, studios and galleries. The weekly Farmers’ Markets also take place here every Friday. At the wharf why not hire a pedalo or rowing boat and take to the water for more exploring.
Just along the coast are several historic towns one of which is Boscastle with its quaint harbour and one of the most unusual museums in England, the Witchcraft Museum, a fascinating look at witchcraft. Another Tintagel Set high on the rugged North Cornwall coast, Tintagel has amazing sea views and breathtaking scenery from the castle ruins. This is a spectacular place, immersed in myths and legend, and has inspired artists and writers who have associated it with the legend of King Arthur. The picturesque inland towns of Launceston and Tavistock in Devon are also worth a visit.
