FOR OUR PET-FRIENDLY VISITORS:
PETS MUST BE APPROVED BY MANAGEMENT PRIOR TO RESERVATION. We reserve the right to refuse any pet at any time. We would like for you and your family (including the four-legged members) to have the best vacation ever, and appreciate your willingness to abide by these guidelines.
*We only accept dogs; no cats allowed. We only accept 2 pets per reservation. *We charge a $70.00 per stay per pet fee, which is not refundable. *Your dog must be on a flea maintenance program. (Like Frontline, Advantage, etc.) *Your dog must be crated while left in the cabin alone. *Your dog must not get on our furniture. If we find pet hair on our furniture upon your departure, you will be charged $10.00 per each quilt/comforter/sofa that must be cleaned to remove dog hair. *If your dog damages our vacation home in any way, ie, urine on the carpet/floor, chewed furniture/walls/doors or molding, you will be held responsible for the damage repair costs. *Your dog must be leashed when outside of the cabin. This is for the safety of your dog, as there may be other animals in the area that could harm your beloved pet.
Check-In: CONTACTLESS CHECK-IN
*3 pm - there is NO check-in office, you go straight to the cabin
Check-Out: *10 am - Please follow our checkout guidelines.
Fireplaces: *On During: October 1st - April 1st
Common Concerns: *Road Conditions: Some of our cabins are on steep, narrow, curvy, mountain roads. If you are concerned about road conditions to get to a cabin, please feel free to ask us! None of our cabins requires a 4-wheel drive under normal weather conditions, but some do in inclement weather. *TV & WiFi: We do have TVs and WiFi in most of our cabins. There are times when heavy cloud cover, weather systems, mountains, or trees will cause problems with the signals. We always want our guests to have the comforts they want on vacation, but there are times we cannot control this problem. *Pests & Wildlife: Here in the Smoky Mountains, we have lots of native bugs and wildlife. All of our cabins are treated for pests, but there are times you will find bugs or even have trouble with bugs. Fall/Winter is ladybug season in the Smokies, and these little buggers are attracted to heat, meaning your cabin and every other one out there that is warm! They will swarm to the cabin, and you'll probably see them alive/dead on windowsills, in vents, etc. Rest assured that your cabin has regular pest control and is professionally cleaned, including bug removal, before and after your stay. However, these bugs come back right away, and unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done about them until the season passes. Please never feed, taunt, or approach any wildlife. This is their home, and we are the visitors. *There are no refunds for storms or power outages. If there is a power outage, there will be no water and potentially no heat. Storms can also make roads impassable, so if a storm is in the forecast during your reservation, come prepared with water and non-perishable food, etc.

Hot tub was nice, the cabin was cozy, everything worked including the WiFi. Communication was seamless which made our arrival very easy to access with the proper codes for the gate and the cabin. The location was off the beaten path of being downtown which made it very quiet at night. We did see a bear our first night upon arrival crossing the drive coming in.Thank you for providing this cozy cabin and the hospitality.

One of the things guests love most about Bear's Den is its peaceful location away from the hustle and bustle, while still being close enough to enjoy all the Smokies have to offer. And what an exciting welcome to the mountains—spotting a bear on your first night! 🐻

We’d love to host you both again for another cozy retreat!
This was a great little cabin for my wife and I to spend a few days while we explored SMNP and the surrounding area. It was very clean and well stocked with all the amenities we needed. Plenty of clean linens and toiletries. We will definitely be contacting Smoky Cabins again for our next trip. The host were very informative and extremely helpful. The digital guidebook was very easy to use. Yes, we will book again.

Bear’s Den was a wonderful place to stay for couples. It was small, quiet, and close to town as well as the national park entrance. We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to anyone!

This cabin was just what we needed for our weekend trip, we spent a lot of time out and about, but it was conveniently located to cades cove and also to pigeon forge, it was clean and comfortable, the shower was small but will work for a quick stay, would recommend!

We are so glad you loved this cabin. The location is absolutely perfect and convenient to so many incredible places! Please come back and stay with us again, soon!
We were extremely impressed with Bears Den. The cabin was adorable and the attention to detail was amazing. Hot tub was wonderful, bed was comfortable, hot water in the shower, and WiFi was good. Location was about 7 minute drive to the caverns, shopping, and restaurants in Townsend. It was a wonderful getaway.
The cabin was cozy and clean. The location easy to access other mountains. The view was little lacking. All other was great!!! The lower price was very helpful
Well stocked and comfortable. Didn't use hot tub as leary of mislabeled control panel and privacy to cabin down the hill. Cabin is dangerously close to the road and almost got hit by speeding car while walking dog.

Thank you for your feedback! We're happy to hear you found the cabin well-stocked and comfortable. Regarding the hot tub, there are specific instructions that explain the overlay on the control panel, including the backwards button. Rest assured, there are no safety concerns with using the hot tub, and a building between the two cabins provides added privacy for guests.
We agree that caution is always important when walking a pet near a road. However, there are safe areas both in front of and behind the cabin where pets can be walked without concern.
We truly appreciate your input and would love to welcome you back for an even better stay in the future. Thank you again for choosing our cabin!

I’m sorry that you were not completely pleased with your stay. We would have had someone come right out to look at the hot tub had you called us and told us that it didn’t smell good. The water had been tested and chemicals added that morning. It may have been the cover that smelled so we treated it. The cabin does sit on a private road which may encounter a few vehicles per day. There are only 3 cabins beyond this one so traffic is not typically an issue. This cabin always gets great reviews and has many many return customers.
I’m surprised at this review from this guest as they left a review elsewhere with 4 of 5 stars and said that the cabin was clean and cozy. They never mentioned anything about the road or hot tub.
We stayed here for 4 nights. Overall, the cabin is pretty cozy and comfortable. Much of the interior including the appliances appear to be updated. Only caveats are 1. the hot tub has difficulty heating above 98 F, and 2. the shower head is angled in a way that the water would hit a wall before a shorter person can catch the water. But overall, I highly recommend this place.
The cabin was wonderful. Everything we needed. Enough towels was a plus. We've stayed at other VRBO homes and what they say is not what you get. This was definitely everything it said plus. The location in the woods next to a mountain was perfect. It was far enough off the main road that you pretty much did not hear traffic. The road the cabin is on is private so not much traffic at all. We loved the relaxed feel of it all. The hot tub was a bonus. We liked that it was close enough to everything but not in the middle of it all. Loved it! Definitely recommend
Perfect little cabin for two. Only minor thing is the shower is tiny! It has a high shower head and good pressure but you can barely turn around. Bed is great. Perfect little couples getaway.
This cabin was awesome! We have done several trips to the Smoky Mountains and love staying near Townsend as it's more quiet and peaceful. Bears Den is secluded so you aren't by other people but close enough to town to be able to get supplies when you need them and close to both of the park entrances, making it super convenient when visiting the park. The cabin was very clean and nicely decorated. We really enjoyed the wood burning fireplace. The bed was comfortable and shower was hot. This place was perfect for a getaway with my husband. Please note that we did not get cell service (we are with Cricket which is off the AT&T network) (which we actually liked). The wifi is good so you can use the internet to connect with other people if you need to and there is a landline for emergencies.
The Bears Den is a great private and relaxing cabin. Good location, close to all the attractions and fun. The hot tub was nice and relaxing after a full day. We will be back!
