About this property
Luxury Highland Escape for Two at Burn Cottage
Discover timeless Scottish charm in this beautifully refurbished detached stone cottage in Garth Fortingall, a perfect retreat just for two. Merging traditional character with modern comforts, the bedroom features an indulgent super kingsize Harrison Spinks bed combined with a luxurious Hungarian goose down duvet. The Porcelanosa bathroom has a walk in rain shower, electric underfloor heating and the use of luxury Aesop products. The open-plan living and kitchen area is designed for effortless indoor–outdoor flow. There is a woodburning stove to cosy up to and you can enjoy a complimentary wee dram of 10 year old Aberfeldy single malt. Three sets of patio doors let you take full advantage of the cottage’s location and private garden. One set leads to a seating area to the front, while the other sets lead to a seating area to the rear. There is an additional seating area by an open stream which runs through the garden. Nestled in a quiet rural setting near the entrance to Glen Lyon, one of Scotland’s most picturesque glens, this intimate getaway promises a romantic escape where every detail is crafted for relaxation and rejuvenation. Nature surrounds you with a multitude of birds, deer, red squirrels and pine martens having been spotted in the garden.
The picturesque village of Fortingall is just over a mile away. It's home to a yew tree said to be the oldest living thing in Europe. The recently refurbished Fortingall Hotel, serves food and drinks. Its regular Friday folk music evening recently featured in Local Lens, a guide to Scotland, presented by Ewan McGregor. Kenmore, with a beautiful setting at the end of Loch Tay has a spa and water based activities, while Aberfeldy boasts a range of restaurants, cafes, specialist shops and small supermarkets.
