About this property

The Walled Garden at Thursford Castle

Nestled within a secluded two-acre walled garden, the Garden Room offers the perfect retreat for a couple seeking privacy, tranquility, and natural beauty.

The Garden Room and Bedroom Suite face south, providing stunning views of beautifully landscaped gardens that change with the seasons. With gravel pathways, colourful borders, and areas of wildflowers, the garden offers a peaceful backdrop year-round, while majestic trees surround the space, attracting a variety of birdlife.

The open-plan Garden Room is bathed in natural light from large windows, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere. The space is furnished with comfortable seating, a smart TV with access to Netflix, Prime, and iPlayer, as well as an Airplay speaker for your music. A desk is also available if you need to work while enjoying the views.

The fully equipped kitchen features modern appliances, including an induction hob, oven, Smeg fridge freezer, and a separate booze fridge, perfect to cook up a storm! The wood burning stove will keep you warm. Step outside onto the deck to soak in the tranquility and listen to the peaceful birdsong.

Just a few steps away is the stylish Bedroom Suite, where you’ll find a super king-size bed dressed with crisp linens. French doors open to the garden, allowing you to greet the morning with a cup of coffee while taking in the serene surroundings. The suite also includes a ceiling fan for warmer nights, a walk-in dressing area, and a separate shower room, making this space both practical and luxurious.

The property is located in the heart of North Norfolk, surrounded by beautiful villages and just a short drive from the coast, known for its stunning beaches and wildlife reserves. Explore local stately homes, boutique shopping, and enjoy a variety of dining options, from charming coffee shops to Michelin-starred restaurants. For those who enjoy the outdoors, the area offers fantastic cycling routes, and you can hire an e-bike on-site, with recommendations for scenic country lanes.

During your time at the property, you’ll have exclusive use of the entire Walled Garden. While garden maintenance may occasionally be required, it will only take place between 10am and 4pm to ensure minimal disruption. The owners live nearby and are on hand for any questions or recommendations.

A basket of logs is provided to get you started with the wood burner, and additional logs for the burner or fire-pit can be purchased for £15 per basket.

Checkin is from 4pm and check out by 10am. If you’d like to check in early (2pm) or check out late (12 noon), this is available for an additional fee of £35 per request.

For those looking to travel with friends or family way not consider booking both properties – the Garden Room and our Scandi-inspired Cabin, which is set in a private meadow. These two cabins offer a luxurious and secluded escape making it the perfect place to relax, restore and reconnect.
