About this property
Sophie's Cottage - a cottage that sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms
Sophie's Cottage is a picture-perfect, thatched, cottage in the quiet hamlet of Treworthal. The ground floor living and dining room is open-plan and has a spacious and bright feel, beautifully presented with wonderful colours and furnishings. To the rear is a stylish kitchen with a large range cooker and Nespresso coffee machine. The family bathroom is also on the ground floor, it has been recently refurbished and now has a wonderful rainfall shower over the tub. Upstairs are 2 spacious double bedrooms, one of which can be split into 2 singles. Outside is a lovely garden with mature shrubs and far reaching views across the glorious rolling rural countryside. Sophie's Cottage is a home from home that is sure to create wonderful memories of your holiday. Directly across from the cottage is a footpath to Philleigh and the South West Coastal Path can reached on foot in around 25 minutes.
Treworthal is nestled in the heart of the Roseland Peninsula, Philleigh and the Roseland Inn is a 1 mile walk down quiet country lanes and offers fine pub grub and a cheerful atmosphere, the glorious golden sands of Pendower Beach is 1.5 miles in the other direction. St Mawes, a 15 minute drive away, is one of the most exclusive traditional villages in the Country, with a wealth of activities within close reach. Historic Castles from the era of Henry VIII, glistening blue waters, bustling beaches, Cornish Pubs, award-winning restaurants, amazing coastal walks, ferries to different locations, little motor boats, kayaks, and stand-up paddle boards, all available for rental (during the season). The Roseland peninsula has a huge variety of places to explore, there are many beaches, some with golden sands, some with shingle, all with a splattering of rock pools, there are secluded coves, towering cliffs, and the famous lighthouse at St Anthony. (Fraggle Rock for everyone of a certain age!) The artists' haven of Portscatho is also well worth a visit. Try the Hidden Hut for some amazing al fresco dining above the stunning Porthcurnick Beach or try either of the 2 excellent pubs in the village, the Plume of Feathers in the Square or The Standard Inn at the top of the hill.
