About this property
Beautiful Iconic Listed Building with Views Overlooking the Arundel Cathedral
This holiday home is absolutely phenomenal. The home was originally designed by Joseph Hansom who designed the Arundel Cathedral and mirrored his style in these three exquisite townhomes. From the back side of the property, the windows look up towards the grand cathedral on the top of the hill, and at night, the Cathedral is illuminated for guests to see! Arundel is home to some of the most beautiful sights in Sussex. Home to the Duke of Norfolk, Arundel Castle is one of the grandest and most cared for castles on the South Coast. The castle also boasts a private garden for visitors, displaying some of the most beautiful flowers and plants native to the UK. Perfect in Spring and Summer! Arundel Cathedral is another one of the gems of this small town with stunning architecture and regular services, it is certainly worth a visit.
Parking is a little tricky in Arundel but there a lot of streets with free parking available. All along Maltravers St is free parking, however, if you cannot find something there, we recommend driving up the hill towards the Cathedral and you should find parking there. If still not, there is paid parking available behind The Swan pub at the bottom of the high street, and also along Mill Road opposite the castle. The home comprises of 3 floors. The ground floor consists of the living room, dining room, kitchen and outdoor courtyard. The kitchen contains a washer/dryer, wine fridge and dishwasher for guests to use. The dining room has an extendable table so will be large enough to seat 6 when extended. There is a half bath on the ground floor.
The first floor contains the master bedroom with shower room ensuite. This bedroom has a gorgeous view of the cathedral, a unique decorative fireplace and a king bed. There is another king bedroom located next door, with another beautiful fireplace.
The second floor contains 2 further bedrooms, with a king bed and double bed. There is a shared bathroom on this floor with a separate bath and shower. Each of the bedrooms has gorgeous views of Arundel Cathedral and Arundel town from the unique lead window frames.
The property is located just 2 minutes walk to Arundel High Street with plenty of amazing restaurants, pubs, antique shops and quaint cafes. The Cathedral is located just a couple of minutes from the house, as well as Arundel Castle.

The property was outstanding! Very comfortable for our entire family and the location was perfect. There was a great view of the Cathedral from one of the bedroom windows, and the entire town was within walking distance. There are many great restaurants close by and parking was easy. We would definitely stay again!
This apartment is one of the nicest I’ve ever stayed in. Everything was amazing; the location so close to the Castle and Cathedral, the exquisite decor, the amenities, communication with the Property Manager, the comfortable beds, quietness of the street. I unreservedly recommend this place for your stay in Arundel.
Great property, beautifully clean and centrally located. The house had all modern conveniences and Sophie had provided all home comforts. So, it really did feel like a home away from home. Tea bags and milk were also left for us, which was most appreciated after a long journey. Will definitely stay again.
Our family, including 5 week old baby, stayed before a wedding in Arundel. The house is very well placed near the centre of town, close to the many shops and restaurants. It was spacious - apart from the kitchen - which is small. Sophie was very easy to contact and very helpful.
The house is beautiful, amazing character, beautifully decorated, perfect situation and proximity to the town, castle, restaurant and bars. The beds were extremely comfortable, everything was so clean and fresh. It was cosy and homely and a perfect getaway for a girls relaxed weekend. My only suggestions would be, blackout curtains/blinds in the bedrooms, the shower in the top bathroom is really not great. And the kitchen is very small for the amount of people staying. A few welcome essentials would also be a nice touch. Overall a fabulous property, thank you
Beautifully decorated and comfortable house. Some frustration with using the hob as no instructions and not obvious how to use it. However picked it up by day 2-3. Would have liked a teapot, milk jug. However, we loved our stay and would like to return definitely.
We have had such a wonderful few nights away at Number 42. The house was beautiful, tastefully decorated throughout and was in a great location. Sophie the owner was really helpful. Thank you😍 Well worth a stay
