About this property
Secluded Sanctuary of Peace in the Trees -Glorious Cabin on Wildlife Reserve
Indulge in the healing powers of nature at this gorgeous hidden retreat amongst the trees. Let the wildlife entertain you - spot deer & kingfishers, watch the dragonflies dance or listen to the birdsong that surrounds you. The Hide has been built & furnished with love, providing a much needed sanctuary from the daily grind. Enjoy starry skies & cosying up by the fire pit & explore the wildlife reserve we've created here. This off the beaten track cabin is the perfect place to soothe a busy soul!
The Hide is a gorgeously rural retreat offering guests a restorative break in nature. It has been thoughtfully decorated with local artwork, handmade furnishings & reclaimed materials. As it's also fully central heated it's the perfect place to escape to whatever the weather. In summer the open plan living area welcomes the beauty of nature indoors and in winter enjoy hunkering down, snuggling up with a board game & listening to the (inevitable) rain. Nature will always put on a beautiful show for you: from the delicate bluebells, the extremely shy otter or the sound of a stag deer to the absolute stillness of a frosty morning (my personal favourite 😍).
Hete at Bellbrook Farm we're proud to be a regenerative holiday destination and we're passionate about protecting our native wildlife! Since 2022 we have worked in partnership with Devon Wildlife Trust and Mother Nature to transform our trout fishery into a wildlife reserve. There are no manicured lawns, tarmac paths or artful hedges in sight, just lots of wild areas which we hope you'll enjoy exploring. You'll be able to spot endangered water voles, hares & kingfishers as well as amazing array of small but very important creatures! We hope spending time by the lakes & listening to the sound of water will leave you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.
As The Hide is truly hidden away there's no vehicular access to the cabin. It's a walk of approximately 350m from the parking area through our field of sheep and/or micro campsite (depending on the time of year) and then down a sloped track. The ground is uneven in parts and the first 15m of the track is a bit steep so you need to be confident on your feet - mainly to the ladies - please wear sensible walking shoes (no high heels or ballet pumps). We provide wheel barrows to help transport your luggage and hope this is all part of the fun of staying somewhere rural.
If you'd rather be able to park next to your cabin but love the sound of Bellbrook Farm please check out our gorgeous Hoot below

We are surrounded by beautiful countryside and very little else so a car is essential to access any shops, cafes, walks etc. The lanes are also single track for 2 miles so you'll need to get your reversing groove on! There are lovely shops & cafes in Bampton (5 miles) and Tiverton (9 miles).
If you're looking for a relaxing few days exploring Exmoor or visiting the local National Trust whilst enjoying a cream tea or a pub lunch it's perfect. However if you want a place with a good night life and cafes within walking distance it's really not recommended. The night skies and bird watching provide the entertainment at Bellbrook!
The quirk to this beautiful escape is that we cannot get a TV signal or broadband so if lots of TV or a sneaky "work from home" break are on your mind, The Hide won't be the right place for you. There is mobile wifi but it's not guaranteed as we're in a valley & experience has taught us that it's weather dependent. Therefore we have not included wifi in the list of amenities to avoid any disappointment. However if you're looking for a digital detox this won't be a problem ;)
We do provide a TV with DVD player & some films as well as selection of board games for those guests looking to unplug and have some old fashioned fun!
We hope to see you soon and please ask if you have any questions - we will always give an honest answer as happy guests make us happy
