Peaceful family getaway in tropical gardens steps away from beach. WiFi; AC; BBQ

Baranga is located in the tranquil Castle Close area adjacent to the Sam Lord's beach, which is easily accessible by steps across the private Castle Close road from Baranga. This lovely, fully equipped villa has air conditioned bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms.

The views from the pool deck, gazebo and master bedroom, spectacular during the day are also enchanting on those nights when the moon rises over the Sam Lord's beach and bathes this lovely villa in moonlight. The large swimming pool with its cascading waterfall only adds to the peaceful feeling at this villa. The gardens are tastefully lit on an evening and day or night it is hard to pull yourself away from the gazebo or pool deck from which you can enjoy the starry nights or see the moon rise over the palm trees on the Castle beach beyond.

The master bathroom is equipped with a large Jacuzzi as well as a shower and this large bathroom is always a big hit with our guests. The other two bathrooms have spacious showers with large rain shower heads. The villa comes with all linen, including both bath and beach towels.

The spacious living room with it's high ceilings and comfortable furniture is perfect for just relaxing or watching the cable television. The villa also has wireless internet. The internal dining area seats 8 comfortably while there is additional dining for 6 at the round table located in the gazebo alongside the pool and pool deck area.

The master bedroom has a king bed while the other two bedroom have two twins in each of them, both of which may be made up as king beds if required. The bedrooms are all equipped with hand held hair-dryers, air conditioners and ceiling fans.

Esther, the housekeeper at Baranga, has been taking care of the villa for over 20 years and is a huge favourite with all of our guests. In addition, the security guards on duty in Castle Close at night will pop by to ensure that if you have any questions they are available.

Ronald Stoute & Sons, who manage the villa, and whose offices are also located in Castle Close, can arrange to have you picked up at the airport, have the villa stocked with groceries if you require and can organize cooks, baby sitters and help you out with any questions about places to see, restaurants, activities and any other queries. Chill Out @ Baranga

My husband and I and our two twenty-something daughters spent a relaxing week enjoying Baranga and Barbados. We loved the park-like feeling of this classic property. The over-sized pool, waterfall and gazebp were perfect hang-out spots before and after sight-seeing, shopping and dining out. The house-keeper Esther is a pro, and we enjoyed sharing jokes and observations with her as she efficiently completed her work the 3 days she was there. While we didn't walk to the beach we did have delicious meals at Dis Ole House, Champers, and Animal Flower Cave. We already miss the tradewinds, random scampering monkeys, and the distant sound of breaking waves.

Lovely stay

We enjoyed our stay. The house had plenty of room for all of us. The kitchen is smaller and a bit dated but suited our needs. We did have an issue with the stove and it was repaired promptly within a day. In room AC kept us cool at night. Laundry facilities were a great perk. The pool is amazing. It is large and well kept. The grounds of the home are amazing. We loved seeing the dogs and occasional monkey visit.The beach closest to the home is walkable but not a swimmable beach (at least not during our visit). The best beach for swimming is about 40 minutes away. This home is definitely not in a touristy area. Barbados is beautiful. We definitely enjoyed the island. We did a great snorkeling excursion with cliffsharker and island tour with Alan Highton. They were the highlight of our trip. Great house and pool. Thanks for a great stay.

Paradise

Baranga cottage is a gorgeous property and lacks absolutely nothing. The gardens are stunning, pool is large, clean and inviting, the outdoor spaces are both expansive and sheltered and the indoors is functional, bright and welcoming. The location is quiet with only birdsong in the morning and the sound of the surf lulling you to sleep at night. Esther the housekeeper does a wonderful job keeping the place sparkling clean and providing terrific insight into Barbados and the castle close area. Gillian and her colleagues made check in and check out painless and seamless. The area is a perfect place to walk and We did so each morning, making a 4 mile round-trip to Castle Beach. There are also convenience stores within a very easy walk as well as Dis Ole House, a splendid and delicious restaurant right at the top of the street. I can’t recommend this cottage and its property managers anymore highly!

Great Barbados vacation in a fantastic villa

We stayed at Baranga in July 2016, for 16 days. It was a perfect time. The villa is simply perfect: everything is there when you need it, the staff is super attentive and helpful, always there to help when you need, but not intrusive. They arranged everything for us: we arrived late at night with a huge delay on a Sunday night, and the taxi driver was there waiting for us, the next morning all other pending things were sorted out before 10 am, so we could only concentrate on relaxing and enjoying this beautiful villa and the beaches of Barbados. Barbados is a pretty large island, and Baranga villa is located in a strategic area, close to the beaches on the east and south part, a bit far away (45m to 1 hr drive) from those on the west. But in many cases we wondered why leave, when you have such a comfortable house there, with a large and beautiful pool and a very curated park, yes, park, not garden, surrounding it, full of tropical trees and flowers, occasionally visited by yellow monkeys and hummingbirds. We even had one day a fisherman bringing us a 10 kg barracuda he had just fished, for bargain price, that he even cut in pieces for us. If you can, plan your next vacation to include the first Monday of August, we did, following Gillian’s suggestion: you will be able to enjoy the Crop Over festival, something you will not forget all of your life! Thank you Stoute & C. staff for a perfect vacation.

Wonderful Vacation!

It’s always a crapshoot when booking a villa based on photos/listing only but we weren’t disappointed with Baranga in the least! The layout of the villa was perfect for privacy especially with each bedroom having its own ensuite bathroom. The bedrooms were ample in size and closet space was more than enough. Having individual A/C units was great since some of us preferred A/C and some didn’t. The villa was spacious, clean (thanks to Esther, a wonderfully friendly woman who keeps the villa spotless) and well-equipped though we spent very little time actually inside the villa other than to sleep and cook. Having the covered outdoor area was key as this was where we spent the majority of our time when we weren’t by the private pool which the most used area during the entire time we were there. The property itself is huge and very well looked after. There are chairs (including loungers) and tables around the pool as well as chairs and a dining table on the outdoor patio which is where we ate all of our meals. Baranga is situated in a gated community. The nightly visits from Sean & Casey (the security staff) who were just “checking in” to ensure all was well, added to the relaxed atmosphere. A car is a necessity as groceries are close by but not within walking distance. Also our favourite place to eat wasn’t within walking distance either and it’s a spot you shouldn’t miss for a memorable dinner/evening out (La Shack). Getting to/from the airport is also easy if you have a car. We’re so happy that we stayed at Baranga during our week in Barbados and look forward to a return visit in the future.

Wonderful three weeks

A peaceful location. We will miss the refreshing breeze and sounds of waves crashing on the nearby rocks and even the neighborhood monkeys scampering by. Esther, the housekeeper is a Barbados national treasure. She has earned her retirement! Guests will be very sorry to see her go.

Fantastic Pool

Why they chose this property

When the previous owners of this villa put it on the market, the company decided to purchase the property because we were fully aware of it's potential and superb location, having managed it for 20 years. The first step was to trim the tall hedges around the villa which then opened up the view of the ocean on two sides. Adding the pool, pool deck and gazebo for alfresco dining, along with the third bedroom opening onto the pool deck was the obvious next step to enjoy the ocean views. The gazebo and deck are where guests spend most of their time as in the evening it is difficult to justify being inside rather than enjoying a drink on the deck by the pool, looking over the tastefully lit garden and seeing the moon rise over the palm trees on the Castle beach beyond.
The property sits on four lots and so has a large back garden and this also gave great potential for expanding making this a great investment. The decision to have a private enclosed outdoor shower off the master bedroom was prompted by the large land area. The kitchen was also expanded to provide a laundry area where there is also a large freezer.

What makes this property unique

We decided to purchase the villa as we could see what potential it had and we have no regrets and in fact do spend quite a lot of time at the villa ourselves when it is not rented.
