Rustic but peaceful location

Beautiful setting but getting to it was down single tracks. Spacious. Lovely garden. Inside needs deep clean and some extra thought in some areas ie shower non slip mat, lamps in lounge. Bathroom is downstairs. Stairs very steep and narrow for elderly. Bedding/towels, annex and bathrooms were clean. Animal and bird ‘poo’ in conservatory. Skirting coming off in kitchen and cladding in conservatory hanging off due to wisteria!

Fantastic location being central to Bristol and all surrounding towns, also Ashton Court park n ride 10 minutes away.I would describe as rustic with some furniture needing replacing, but bathrooms and bedding/towels spotless.Dishwasher needed salt and rinse aid so as none supplied crockery was a bit grubby and also all over the place( down to previous users) but should be checked by house keeping.Steep narrow stairs and bathroom is actually downstairs.Had to bring lamps down from bedroom to use as night lighting for my elderly mum to see to get downstairs during the night.Wisteria is growing into conservatory so some panelling is coming off, also skirting board is unattached behind kitchen radiator where you hook conservatory door back. However, the positives made our stay in that it was really peaceful, birdsong was amazing. Had a greater spotted woodpecker in garden. Garden is lovely with outdoor table and chairs and swing seat.I slept in the annex which was perfect except it could do with a small plug in fridge for milk, it has a kettle!Access is better if coming in and out via Failand itself rather than from the M5 north sat nav directions. If so head for Portbury and Noah’s Ark antiques which will get you in the better way as the roads are very narrow with moss in the middle and not many passing places. The road from Failand is also like this but much shorter.Plenty of parking.Dog bowls provided. It was really quaint and I would stay again.
