About this property

Casa dos Cubos Douro River House with swimming pool and river views

Beautiful river house set over 3 floors in a peaceful setting with stunning views of the river Douro. The villa was designed by the daughter of the famous British designer David Mellor with each detail carefully chosen. It has an airy modern yet luxury feel with large bright windows, natural wood floors and spacious bedrooms with large comfortable beds and pristine linen.

The basement has a swimming pool which opens up into the garden in the summer and is covered in winter. The top floor has views of the Douro river and a large wooden table perfect family dinners or cooked for you by our private chef and a fully equipped kitchen.

You can walk into Porto along the stunning river walk or Uber into the center in just 10-15 minutes. Supermarkets are nearby with everything you need and it's 3 minutes to the highway in case you want to explore the Douro Valley or other cities. We offer trips to the Douro for wine tasting, river trips on a Luxury boat and a private chef at the house.

Trips and experiences
We offer private dinners with our international chef, trips to the Vinho Verde and Douro Regions for tours and wine tastings, private river cruise on a luxury motor boat. Please enquire.

Important notes:
There is a city/tourist tax to pay at checkin of €2.50 per adult per night.
The pool is heated upon request between October and March to support our eco energy footprint.

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
Leave the 2 sets of keys on the table and send a photo
Hang the towels to dry. Put clean unused bed cushions and covers to the side so we don't wash them
Clean the bbq. Put furniture back and outdoor cushions
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Dont park in front of the garage . Only use the beige pool towels in the pool. Clean the bbq after use
Don’t talk or shout in the outside areas on the street and garden especially after 22.00 (there are local noise laws).
Do not to sit on the garden chairs after 22.00. Only on around the table next to Pool
