About this property
Coach House - sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms
Ideally positioned in the hamlet of Burleston, and close to historic Athelhampton House and popular Puddletown and Tolpuddle, the Coach House sits within the grounds of The Old Rectory. This beautiful, thatched barn conversion has been meticulously prepared and provides a comfortable and well-appointed holiday home for up to four guests. Perfect as a cosy rural retreat, the Coach House sits in a beautiful part of South Dorset, and the popular destinations of Puddletown Forest, Wareham Forest, Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove, Studland, Corfe Castle and the Isle of Purbeck are all nearby.
Your detached holiday home has been carefully designed and furnished to offer comfortable accommodation which includes an open-plan sitting room with television, a dining area, and a well-equipped kitchen. On the first floor you will find the two bedrooms, both enjoying high ceilings and exposed beams which add character and charm. Bedroom one has a 5' king-size bed, and bedroom two has twin 3' single beds which can be configured as a 6' super-king size bed upon request. The family bathroom with bath and overhead shower sits conveniently in the middle of the long landing between both bedrooms.
Outside you will find a private walled area with large table and chairs, the perfect place for enjoying your morning coffee or an al fresco meal. Behind the car port there is a paved terrace set up for table tennis, and this area looks over the flower, fruit and vegetable garden. Guests staying at the Coach House are invited to share the owners' beautiful mature garden with its large pond, ornamental bridge, seating areas, and attractive plants, trees and shrubs. You may be lucky to spot one of the visiting herons that frequent the pond, and you will certainly see plenty of wildlife including birds, bees and butterflies.
Just under a mile away is one of England's finest Tudor Manor Houses - Athelhampton House & Gardens, and the popular attractions of Bovington Tank Museum, Monkey World, T.E. Lawrence's Clouds Hill and the Sculpture by the Lakes Park are all just short drive away.
Whether you are looking for a relaxing break with friends, family or as a couple, the Coach House is the perfect choice for everyone.
