About this property
Tarquol Cottage, Stowford
Welcome to Tarquol Cottage, a delightful single-story retreat that perfectly combines comfort, character, and the timeless charm of rural Devon. Fully double glazed and centrally heated, this cottage sleeps up to four guests and is ideal for couples or families looking for a peaceful getaway.
Situated on the north side of the courtyard at Stowford Lodge, Tarquol Cottage enjoys a quiet position with convenient rear access from the double bedroom leading directly to the children's play area. Inside, you'll find two inviting bedrooms – one double and one twin – along with a warm and welcoming living room that opens onto a well-equipped kitchen featuring an electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave, and refrigerator. The bathroom includes an electric shower over the bath.
Guests can take advantage of the on-site indoor swimming pool, open between April and October, perfect for a relaxing swim after a day of exploring. A cot is also available on request at the time of booking.
There is ample off-road parking, as well as secure undercover storage for bicycles, roof racks, and surf or body boards. Barbecues are also available on request.
All of the cottages at Stowford Lodge, including Tarquol Cottage, have been lovingly converted from Victorian stone farm buildings that surround a peaceful gravelled courtyard. Each cottage retains a wealth of original features, with exposed beams, high ceilings, and beautiful natural wood finishes.
Perfectly positioned for discovering both Devon and Cornwall, Stowford Lodge makes an ideal base for exploring the region's many attractions. The picturesque coastal spots of Westward Ho!, Instow, Clovelly, Buck's Mills, and Combe Martin are all just a short drive away, each offering safe beaches and breathtaking sea views. For those seeking adventure, boat trips to Lundy Island depart from nearby Bideford and Ilfracombe, while the wild beauty of Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks can be reached easily by car, offering endless opportunities for walking, wildlife, and stunning scenery.
There is an EV charger available on site. The charger is untethered and electric car customers will need to bring their own Type 2 charging cable with them on holiday.
