About this property
The Bolt Hole, Great Walsingham, Norfolk
A fabulous base from which to explore North Norfolk's big outdoors, inland and coastal, and a simply lovely peaceful luxurious retreat to return to after a great day out and about. The Bolt House is found in the heart of the pretty village of Great Walsingham, the little sister to the nearby greater Little Walsingham. Confused? That's Normal for Norfolk!
The Bolt House is a detached period property sitting proudly in its spacious plot within the private Old Foundry complex. Formerly a late Victorian warehouse, it is now the perfect blend of character and contemporary charm. Under new ownership in 2024, it has been fully renovated and designed by London interior design house 201 Lvyn. You will find a brand new fitted kitchen layout and easy on the eye styling that flows seamlessly from one room to the next and works wonderfully well with the exposed brickwork and beamed ceilings throughout the house.
The ground floor is predominantly open-plan; a spacious dual aspect living space with a streamlined kitchen catering for every need with an adjacent dining area set to one end of the room, both overlooking and leading into an ultra-comfortable and super-relaxing chill out zone at the other, where a wood burning stove provides extra warmth to all areas. Just the place to be when a cosy night in beckons. Midway along the room French doors open to the south facing garden and bring in even more light so it stays bright and light even on the dullest of days.
Upstairs, the vaulted ceilings encourage an overall sense of space and light. With three inviting bedrooms to choose from (a super-king, double and full-size single), all with top quality mattresses and dressed with fine quality linen, sleepy heads are guaranteed a blissful night's rest. There are two bathrooms on this level too, one of which is en-suite to the master. There's a cloakroom on the lower level too.
Outside, you can take your pick of two sunny seating areas (there is a shaded area under the trees) as well as a dining patio with a Weber barbecue to light as the fancy takes you. If you should feel like stepping out and stretching your legs there is a popular cafe just around the corner, selling snacks and drinks, and a couple of tempting art galleries to browse. An easy twenty minute walk away is Little Walsingham, where there is a farm shop, two good pubs, cafes and a general store.
The Bolt House is the perfect year round holiday hideaway for couples, friends and families. A short drive will take you to some of the most beautiful beaches, the nearest being at Wells-next-the-Sea. Explore the charming coastal towns and pretty flint villages that are dotted along the stunning North Norfolk coastline, and sample some wonderful local produce at a variety of excellent eateries.
