About this property
Unique riverside apartment in a historic church, central location, free parking
1 Belltower is a well-appointed, characterful home in an old church right beside the river. The flat accommodates four adults in style and comfort.
The quirky old arched windows look down onto the river's mesmerising ripples and across to the castle.
Close to great restaurants, pubs, convenient for the city centre, culture and history, all are just a short stroll across the pedestrian bridge or along the river.
There are six parking spaces right outside the building, and you may find one is available when you arrive. If not, we provide a parking permit so you can park free close by.
Our unique apartment for four has two bedrooms. One has a UK king-size bed, the other a UK double bed. Bedlinen and towels are provided. There is an ensuite bathroom with bath and shower accessed from the king bedroom. This bathroom is also shared by guests in the second bedroom, via a jack-and-jill door from the hall. There is a second toilet upstairs.
The living room is upstairs, with quirky arched windows giving unique views of the river and cityscape. The apartment is decorated with fascinating prints of old Inverness and we outline the church's history. There is wifi and a smart TV.
The open-plan kitchen is well equipped with fridge-freezer, cooker, microwave and washing machine.
This is self-catering accommodation, but we provide basic store-cupboard supplies such as condiments, tea, coffee, sugar and milk. There are supermarkets and cafes conveniently close by.
The location is ideal for exploring the city. The Victorian market, castle, museum, art gallery, theatre, botanic gardens, canal locks, local nature reserve and shops are all just a short walk away along the river banks or across the footbridge. Dolphin watching trips and the famous Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle are easily reached. Go to a beach or explore the rugged Highlands as day trips. Extensive information on local attractions is provided, and you can find out more on-line.
You need several days to make the most of all that Inverness and the wider area has to offer.
We are a short easy walk from the bus and train stations (-5 minutes)
The apartment is not suitable for children or babies.
We are on a quiet city street, not a main thoroughfare, by the river. Very little traffic at night, just occasional pedestrians passing by.
We provide fluffy extra blankets, and hot water bottles, in addition to the 13 tog duvets, so you will always be cosy.
You enter the Belltower building using the door between the pillars, up a few steps. Then through the inner door you'll find number 1 on the left. The main door of the apartment brings you in to the hall at ground level. The bedroom and bathroom are at this level. The livingroom and kitchen are upstairs.

Why they chose this property
Inverness is a vibrant city and the capital of the Scottish Highlands. It's very central for exploring the spectacular north of Scotland. We use the flat regularly ourselves, and we cherish and look after it.
What makes this property unique
Our apartment at 1 Belltower is in a former historic church, right by the River Ness. Its unique style and very convenient central location make it an ideal holiday base. You can be in the old city centre in a couple of minutes by crossing over the river on the iconic Victorian pedestrian suspension bridge right outside the Belltower.
There are lots of very good restaurants in close proximity to us, so you're spolt for choice. Supermarkets are also close by.
The views from our quirky windows are very special. You can gaze at the rippling river from one window, admire the various churches across the river from a higher window, and look over to the nearby Inverness Castle from yet another window.
There are six free parking spaces right outside. If these are all taken, we provide a parking permit for nearby streets. We're also a short walk from the bus and train stations in the town centre.
We love our place and we hope you will too. We are available by message to answer questions during the day and are very responsive. Check-in is by using a key safe.
