About this property
Seaview super-central beautiful Brighton townhouse sleeps 15 with 4 bathrooms
Wake up in a beautiful former sea captain’s retreat with direct sea views from top floors. On a quiet side street this Regency townhouse is incredibly central. On the same road as the Brighton Dome but on a quiet side street, supermarkets, the famous Lanes, parking, the train station, restaurants, clubs, pier & beach are all walkable.
Bedrooms have zip & link hotel-style beds & comfy mattresses. They can be arranged as doubles and singles.
There are also four en suites & a Hollywood-style pamper area.
The dining room has a beautiful parquet-floor and a 15-seater table. There is a new kitchen with all you need. The living room with seabirds wallpaper has a Smart TV (Netflix & Amazon). The house has high ceilings and stylish exposed brick walls.
We’d like you to feel like you’re staying in your own boutique hotel, with fresh linens, lashings of hot water and a chill out space before hitting the city.
This beautiful, bright 19th century Regency townhouse has direct sea views from the top floor. Although you're on a quiet side road, you are within minutes of buzzy West Street for clubs, bars, restaurants and the the shopping nirvana of The Lanes. Fantastic pubs & great restaurants are all around you.
Lovingly restored to it's former glory, you couldn't find a more central location - Brighton station is five minutes' walk away. And there's even a multi-storey car park on the same street. If you're driving, we advise using this or one of the other 24-hour car parks as you won't need transport on arrival as it’s all easily walkable.
The highlight of this house is the fantastic social space in the dining area with its exposed brick feature wall. It has a magnificent parquet floor, sumptuous coving, and a handmade wooden table that comfortably seats 16. It's a wonderful room for an intimate night in with friends or family. Some guests like to hire a chef for the night to make it a gourmet experience as well. Details about chefs and budgets are very easy to search up.
Also if you book and need to cancel, regardless of our cancellation policy we will give a full refund if we obtain a similar replacement booking for those dates.
Back to the description. There are three large but still cosy bedrooms with plantation shutters and plenty of storage space while the living room has two large double sofa beds. Each of these rooms has its own beautiful en-suite shower room with Victorian tiled floors and exposed brick. There is also an additional ground floor WC.
There is wifi throughout the house. We also hope you love the "getting ready" pamper area for those preparing to hit the town with its 3 Hollywood-style illuminated dressing room mirrors & stylish drift wood make-up table. It’s a smart TV enabling Netflix and Amazon Prime etc if you have your own accounts
The living room with its Farrow & Ball colours and smart TV (Netflix, Amazon etc) is perfect for vegging out the morning after the night before! While here, check out the sea view. It also has rooftop views from another window and to the rear further vistas on towards the Sussex Downs.
Please note - We're happy to accommodate respectful hens (but not stags - we aren't insured for them). The house is also ideal for family gatherings or for groups of friends.
Because it’s so central to town & close to the Brighton Conference Centre we get a lot of work, corporate & training stays during the week as well.
There are separate fuse boxes for each bedroom & for the living room.
If the shower is not working, check the red switch hasn’t been turned off outside the room. That is its separate fuse.
The ironing board is under upstairs to the basement with the hoover.
The high chair is a clip together one kept in the cupboard in the hallway.
There is no garden but there is a special pamper area with Hollywood-style mirrors for guests to apply make up & get ready for their evening out in style.
All towels, tea towels & linens are supplied. Please though bring your own beach towels though.
There are large black wheelie bins outside the house for rubbish .

About the host
Hosted by Ben Hatch
I am a novelist and former journalist at The Telegraph. I love hosting because of all the great people we get to talk to.
Why they chose this property
My wife and I live in Brighton and we love all the amazing restaurants, bars and clubs on our doorstep. We also have the gorgeous Sussex Downs a few minutes away and, of course, the seafront to stroll down with our dog Gilbey.
What makes this property unique
It is a former sea captain's retreat with fabulous rooftop sea views yet it is in the heart of the city and you can walk to the pier, the beach, the shops, the famous Lanes. No need for a single taxi! The house is also on the same street as a carpark.
