About this property
Lowther Cottage - Lake District Cottage With Log Burner
Lowther Cottage is a cosy and peaceful retreat set within the beautiful and historic Lowther Estate. Designed with comfort in mind, the cottage offers a warm and inviting living space complete with a log burner—perfect for relaxing after a day exploring the Lake District. The cottage blends quiet seclusion with excellent access to nearby villages, walking routes, and some of Cumbria’s finest scenery.
Lowther Cottage is just as special outside peak season.
Autumn and winter bring a quieter, more atmospheric Lake District — crisp walks, dramatic scenery, and cosy evenings by the fire. The log burner creates a warm, inviting space after a day exploring historic villages, frost-touched countryside, or lakes without the crowds.
With comfortable living areas, a fully equipped kitchen, and local pubs nearby for hearty meals, the cottage is ideal for winter breaks, festive stays, and off-season escapes
Dogs are welcome at Lowther Cottage, making it an excellent choice for guests who want to explore the Lake District with their four-legged companions. With countryside walks, riverside paths, and quiet lanes nearby, there’s plenty of space for dogs to enjoy the outdoors.
A small £15 fee per stay applies to help cover additional cleaning, ensuring the cottage remains comfortable and well presented for all guests.
