About this property

2 Bed in Southwold (oc-hshrim)

This traditional fisherman’s cottage has a pretty pink facade and is located in the heart of Southwold. Guests can see the sea from the cottage, which helps make an excellent backdrop to a memorable family holiday. Southwold is a wonderful town, with plenty of pubs and shops down its high street. Though, the real draw of the cottage is its close proximity to the sea and the sight of the lighthouse - visible every time you enter the property and from the back of the house. For days when you want to venture a little further afield, there are plenty of pretty towns and villages to explore, including Aldeburgh, for example, which is 18 miles away and is an equally pretty East Suffolk town. It’s also easy to catch a foot ferry to Walberswick in the summer, which is the neighbouring pretty seaside village, separated by scenic harbour with a beautiful beach to explore.

Entering the property, guests will find themselves immediately in the open-plan living area. In the living/dining room are two 2-seater sofas with a decorative fireplace providing a unique centre point. The dining table fits up to six, so sociable family suppers are easily possible. The separate galley kitchen has everything guests need to cater for those suppers as well as having a window overlooking the garden and lighthouse beyond. The bathroom is on the ground floor with a roll-top bath and hand-held shower attachment as well as a separate shower cubicle. The property’s WC is also in this room. Narrow stairs then take you to the master bedroom with a great view too - this time of St James’s Green and the sea. It has a king-size, metal frame bed, while the other bedroom is a pretty twin.

The garden is a courtyard and is overlooked by the awe-inspiring lighthouse. It has a table and chairs for guests’ morning tea or coffee.
