About this property
2 Bed in Machynlleth (oc-wad305)
Nestled among beautiful countryside with cracking views and a pretty garden, this cute and quirky cottage is the perfect base for friends or family to enjoy Mid Wales’ coast and country with their canine companions. It’s 1 mile from a pub and the village of Cemmaes, 6 miles from Machynlleth, and 17 miles from the coast, allowing you to enjoy the best of both worlds.
This converted barn, next to the owner’s home, has original features, comfy interiors and its upside-down layout takes advantage of the gorgeous country views. Go into the slate-floored entrance hall with exposed brickwork, and up the oak staircase to the open-plan living space, which combines the kitchen/lounge/dining room. Curl up with a good book and a glass of wine in front of the wood burner, cook delicious meals in the kitchen area and enjoy them at the dining table; there’s a TV, DVD player, and CD player/hi-fi for evening entertainment. The two pretty bedrooms are downstairs, a king-size room and a twin, both have lovely pine furniture, along with the stunning bathroom. Outside the dogs can explore the enclosed garden while you enjoy a BBQ in the sunshine.
Sitting within Snowdonia National Park there are many picturesque walks from the front door. Glyndwr’s Way, a national walking trail dedicated to the 15th Century Welsh Prince Owain Glyndwr, passes through the farm the cottage is on. Wander down to the river (fishing can be arranged locally) and head to the coast to give your canines companions a run on the beach. For keen mountain bikers, Dyfi Bike Park is only 8 miles away. You’ll find a shop (0.5 miles) and a pub (1 mile) nearby and the market towns of Machynlleth (8 miles) and Dolgellau (16 miles) are within easy reach.
This property is attached to Hen Stabl - Cemmaes, which is another cottage let by the owner of Ty Wennol. Hen Stabl sleeps 5.
