Get back to nature at this woodland hideaway – at the heart of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, the detached cedar lodge sleeps five and offers gorgeous valley views alongside access to acres of wildlife-rich grounds, fishing and a children’s play area.
Overlooking a secluded, wooded valley, this Canadian cedar lodge is one of a group of well-spaced properties close to the coast in St Brides Bay. Time together is the focus within the lovely timber-framed living room here; beneath its high ceiling, there’s a comfortable seating area, dining suite and huge windows, with a door onto the balcony allowing you to enjoy fresh air and countryside sounds on demand. The adjacent kitchen has all the self-catering must-haves – separate laundry facilities are available on-site – and there’s more home-style convenience and comfort with a family bathroom and three compact bedrooms: one with a double bed, one with a single and the last with full-sized bunk beds. Sit out on your balcony and you’ll have a lovely view – the lodges are landscaped into various levels and enhanced by thoughtful planting. Enjoy your private oasis of peace with a stroll around the 100 acres that form the estate; you’ll find a pretty stream, small waterfalls and stunning views in addition to a fishing lake and shallow pools that are a haven for dragonflies, damselflies and fascinating pond life – the grounds here have been awarded the David Bellamy gold award for conservation for many years.
The nearest village of Broad Haven is less than 2 miles by road and can be reached via a walk through the woods – follow a short footpath from here to the coastal path for spectacular sea views. Inland, the county town of Haverfordwest and its ancient castle are 6 miles away, while the pretty harbour at Solva is 11 miles and is en route to St Davids, Britain’s smallest city (14 miles).
