About this property
2 Bed in Sticklepath (oc-l33312)
Nestled at the bottom of wooded Skaigh Valley in Dartmoor National Park, this former workers’ cottage is the perfect base for both relaxation and adventure. Step outside the door and you’re immediately surrounded by the wild beauty of the moors, with countless National Trust sites close by. After a long walk, enjoy a well-earned break in one of the welcoming village pubs or tearooms, and stock up on essentials at the well-supplied local shop, all just over 150 metres away. Nearby attractions include Finch Foundry (150 metres), Castle Drogo (8 miles), and the stunning RHS Garden Rosemoor (23 miles). Gentle routes such as the Granite Way provide leisurely options (6 miles), while the open moors invite more challenging adventures.
Enter your home-from-home and be welcomed by the open plan living space with the wood burner centrally positioned to warm the room. Kick back and relax on the sofa with a cuppa or find a good book, whilst indulging your favourite TV show on the Smart TV. The dining table offers plenty of space for mealtimes, or even late-night board games, and the kitchen comes well equipped, allowing the designated chef of the group to cook up some delicious meals. Just off the kitchen is a rear door leading to the rear patio area. Upstairs, you’ll find two bedrooms, a king-size bedroom and a twin, both with zip and link beds for added flexibility. Serving both bedrooms is a family bathroom with a shower over the bath and a WC.
Outside to the rear is an enclosed patio area with seating and dining furniture, and a BBQ, great for enjoying the outdoors in warmer months. Parking is on-street (subject to availability).
