Coed y Brenin Forest just around 1.5mi from your front door where you can take a peaceful walk through the woodland and discover the natural beauty of Rhaeadr Mawddach and Pistyll Gain waterfalls, enjoy a scenic riverside picnic or cycle down some brilliant mountain biking trails. Slightly further afield is Cadair Idris, the highest and one of the most popular peaks to ascend in Southern Snowdonia. For a spot of lunch after your climb, head to Dolgellau, a town steeped in history and bursting with independent shops and eateries to enjoy. For a wonderful day out, take a trip to Blaenau Ffestiniog and discover the numerous local activities such as Ffestiniog Railway, cycling at Antur Stiniog (14 mi) and adventure at Zip World Slate Caverns (15 mi). The beaches of Abermaw and Fairbourne are around 15 miles from the cottage as well as the remains of Harlech Castle, a magnificent coastal fortress just 30 minutes away by car.
