About this property
Bayview Townhouse | St Monans
New for 2025, Bayview is a charming traditional East Neuk terraced house, built around 1840 and tucked just a minute’s stroll from St Monans harbour. Set in an elevated position, it makes the most of its outlook with beautiful sea views across the Forth Estuary – the kind of backdrop that’s made for slow mornings, coastal walks and evenings watching the changing light over the water. Bright and spacious over three levels, it sleeps up to six guests in comfort, with fast broadband, flexible bedrooms and a private enclosed courtyard garden. Up to two dogs are welcome (terms and supplement apply), so the whole household can enjoy the seaside air.
On the ground floor, a hallway running from front to back links both bedrooms with the staircase and rear garden. At the front, Bedroom 2 is a generous twin room overlooking the little rockery, furnished with two single beds, wardrobe, drawers, dressing table and bedside lamps. At the rear, Bedroom 3 offers a calm double room looking over the courtyard, with double bed, wardrobe, drawers and seating – a lovely spot to retreat to after a day exploring the East Neuk.
The first floor is very much the heart of the home. A modern, fully fitted dining kitchen spans the width of the house, with double windows framing fantastic sea views across the estuary and flooding the room with natural light. There’s plenty of space for relaxed cooking and dining, with floor and wall units, co-ordinating worktops, integrated washing machine, full-size dishwasher, fridge and separate freezer, plus electric oven, gas hob, microwave, kettle and toaster. A matching dining table with six chairs, stripped wooden floor, carved fireplace, window seat and easy chairs make this a sociable, welcoming space to gather. Also on this level is a larger-than-average family bathroom, complete with a freestanding roll-top bath, 1.5-size shower enclosure, vanity sink, WC and traditional fire surround, as well as a separate cloakroom with glass basin, WC and heated towel rail.
Up on the second floor, the cosy master bedroom sits to the rear, with a king-size bed, Velux window, storage and an armchair – a peaceful spot to unwind at the end of the day. To the front, the elegant lounge makes full use of Bayview’s elevated setting, with a shallow bay window capturing sweeping sea views. Comfortable leather sofas and a club chair, coffee table, traditional fireplace, Smart TV and DVD player create an inviting space for film nights, reading or simply storm-watching with a blanket.
Outside, there’s a small planted rockery to the front, while at the back a private enclosed courtyard garden offers a sheltered place to sit out, laid with flagstones and stone chips and dotted with potted plants. A garden table with four chairs, bench, coffee table and clothesline make it practical as well as pretty. Parking is straightforward, with on-street public spaces available on nearby Forth Street and George Terrace, plus a parking area just a minute or two away on Miller Terrace.
From Bayview, you’re perfectly placed to enjoy St Monans’ harbour, coastal path, seafood and neighbouring East Neuk villages, with Anstruther and historic St Andrews both within easy reach for day trips, beach time and Fife’s famed golf courses.
