About this property

Under the Gondola - Moose View Suite, Dog Friendly!

The property is located just under the gondola on Ski Trail Lane. Our heated, back staircase leads you down from the house to only cross the street and ski/hike/bike out to the base of the mountain. ski/hike/bike-in is just as simple. We are dog and kid friendly. (sorry, no cats) THIS IS A NON-SMOKING HOUSE with wireless internet throughout. There is a laundry room on site for our guests use. Our Moose View Suite is quite spacious, great for dogs and kids alike! The dining table seats 6, with a wet bar complete with coffee maker, refrigerator and dishwasher, but no oven/stove. There is a large gas grill outside on a covered walkway, that has a stove burner attached, for additional cooking options. Pots & pans as well as grill utensils are provided. The living area has 2 flat screen TVs. With a king bed in the bedroom, queen Murphy bed and a pull out queen sofa bed in the living room, this is a great option for a family of 4 or 5.

We are extremely welcoming to dogs. There is a shared fenced in yard surrounding our guest suites. Currently, Steamboat/Hayden airport HDN, United and Southwest have non-stop service to Houston and Denver. Winter brings many more non-stop flights.
Walk down the back stairs and across the street to ski in and out on a groomed access trail to the base area. There is a flat $75 per dog pet fee (per stay) plus taxes.

Convenient and pet friendly ski stay

This is our second stay here and both times we found our rooms clean and comfortable and all our needs met. It’s conveniently close to just cross the road then ski down to the gondola.

Great holiday vacation

Stayed here with my family and had a great time. Robin the host is really great and helpful. Location is very convenient, quick walk to slope. Allows dogs and has enclosed area in back to let them out. Would highly recommend.

Great location and pet friendly!

This condo was perfect for our family vacation over Christmas break. Convenient ski on and ski off location. We were able to bring our dogs which was also a really great treat. Condo was clean and even better than pictures.

Great stay

The moose view suite had everything we needed. We didn’t bring the dogs, but it was a very dog friendly property. It was a short walk to the resort to go snowboarding. Would definitely stay again.

Wonderful pet-friendly location

Great spot for a weekend in Steamboat. Nice suite with everything you need, and Robin the host was wonderful. She greeted us when we arrived and showed us around and even helped us out with some supplies we needed during our stay.

Wonderful and spacious condo

The Moose View condo is fantastic. More space than you'd think for a one bedroom. And a nice little covered patio out the back with a fenced grass area for the doggies. Wonderful in every way. Highly recommend! We'll be back.

Great accommodations.

This was exactly as advertised. Very clean. Nicely appointed and comfortable. Our pup loved it. It was ‘almost’ ski in/ski out. With steps, and being on the side of the ski mountain, it’s going to be best for people who enjoy walking. A really nice feature is that the steps to the condo are heated so no worries about slipping.

Amazing weekend!

We came up this weekend to find a beautiful home nestled in Steamboat Springs. Greeted by a wonderful host who welcomed our two year old and pups. The grounds are fenced in for the dogs which is awesome. It wasn’t ski season quite yet but you can ski in ski out. The place was so pretty, clean and most importantly comfortable for a relaxing family weekend. Would definitely recommend staying “Under the Gondola.” We cannot wait for our next visit!

Sweet on the mountain!

Great location for peace and quiet. Away from the bustle and very comfortable. Each space is well situated for separateness. (only issue is weed mitigation.... they detract from the elegant building facade)

Great location for ski in and out

The place is brand new, in fact Robin and her family are still getting everything situated. They have done a great job with the unit, the grounds and making sure you feel at home. They are still working on the fencing for the dogs but there is a great dog run on the way to the slopes across the street. The apartment is perfectly appointed and perfect for a family of 3-4. The murphy bed is great! Thanks again.

The apartment is very spacious and has wonderful light throughout. Robin is a wonderful host and made us feel at home. There are plenty of thoughtful cooking options, so don't worry about not having a stove. The grill (right outside your door) has a burner for cooking on, there is a full sized refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and crockpot. We loved coming home to eat after a long day skiing. Our dog gave it a 10 star review.

Just WOW!

We have stayed in dozens of VRBO accommodations for more than 20 years. In most cases, they have been good experiences and of course, there have been a few that were dicey to say the least. Also, in most cases, the pictures on the VRBO website are often nicer than the accommodations. But - in this case, the pictures did not do justice to the Moose View Suite! It was sparkling clean - tremendous care was given to each and every detail of the suite. The appointments are top notch - from the the appliances to the bed and bath linens, and to all the wonderful and thoughtful items in the efficiency kitchen. The decor is simple, elegant and the home casually comfortable. Every detail was meticulously and purposefully attended to. The suite is large enough for entertaining; we had our dear friends over for dinners...The outdoor space, with the sitting area under the twinkle-lit pergola complemented by a lovely firepit, allowed us and our dogs to relax and enjoy the sweeping views of valley of Steamboat Springs. Evening drinks with our friends, and our morning coffee were especially tasty because of the environment. Our pups enjoyed our stay was much as we did - the fenced patio and small grassy area was safe and clean. Of particular note was the warmth and hospitality of our host, Robin. Thanks, Robin, we will definitely be returning!

Wonderful location and condo

The condo was clean, comfortable and well appointed. Easy access to the slopes and only a ten minute drive from anything we wanted to do. Dog friendly. Easy communication with the hosts. Can’t wait to go back.

We LOVE staying at Robin’s! The house is easy to access and has everything you might need for a long weekend stay! Plus - dog friendly is key for us and it’s perfect for the dogs. We loved the Moose View suite and we’ll definitely be back.

Another Wonderful Stay

We love Steamboat and love staying at Under The Gondola. Robin is such a great person and makes everything perfect. Our dogs love it too as they constantly meet new friends of likeminded dog owners. A truly great property all around.

My second stay and just as great as the first. The communication was on-point, the suite impeccably cleaned, and my puppy in heaven out in the yard. The suites parking spot was well marked, good size, and easy to get into. The unit was so bright and airy - it was the perfect spot for me to work remotely (while wishing I was skiing). Thankfully, when I was ready to ski it was literally a walk across the street, skis on and I was off. Big yard for the dog - completely fenced with gates & latches. With a fridge, microwave, gas grill and dishwasher I was able to cook my meals with no issue. Definitely the best option for anyone with a pet (or even without - it was such a great location and comfortable!).

Great place to enjoy your time in Steamboat

Great condo! We needed dog friendly and that is what we got! What a great place to spend time with family and friends and have your dog their too! Easy access to the base area. Robin was very easy to work with and always replied to my emails before we arrived. We will definitely be back!

Convenient and roomy

We enjoyed a two-night stay here and would definitely stay here again when in Steamboat. Dog friendly for a small fee with plenty of secure space for your dog to run around. Heated floors in the bedroom were a nice touch. Host is nearby and very responsive.
