The first impressions of Balloan Cottage are fantastic, you fall for the place as soon as you pull up. It’s a wonderful, comfortable holiday home in one of the best spots in the Highlands.. Ground Floor:

There are two large en-suite bedrooms, a living room and a fully equipped family kitchen/dining. There is a good broadband connection. Each bedroom is set up as superking but can be split to make twins, giving more flexibility.

The cottage can comfortably accommodate up to six guests and is dog friendly. Balloan Cottage provides secluded and exclusive accommodation in one of the finest spots from which to explore the wild and wonderful coastline of Caithness and Sutherland. A traditional Highland cottage dating back over 200 years, Balloan is a place to rest and relax in comfort and enjoy the peace and quiet of a beautiful rural setting. Only 5 minutes’ walk from the seaside resort of Dornoch where you will find outstanding places to eat and drink, a vast expanse of golden sand to wander along and possibly the best golf course in Scotland at Royal Dornoch GC. This cottage exceeded every expectation and was easily our favorite stay during our trip to Scotland.From the moment we arrived, it felt like something out of a fairy tale. The cottage, the gardens, and the surrounding scenery were absolutely breathtaking. It was peaceful, private, and beautifully maintained.The beds were the most comfortable we've ever slept in, which made every night incredibly restful. The cottage was thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed and immediately felt like home.The location was perfect. It was close enough to easily explore Dornoch, the Highlands, and everything on our itinerary, while still being tucked away enough to enjoy quiet family time away from the crowds.This is one of those rare places that you never want to leave. We're already planning our next trip back, and there is no question where we'll be staying.10 out of 10. We would recommend this cottage without hesitation and cannot wait to return.
