Private parking for 1 car. No smoking.. Welcome to Castle Lodge, a cosy, pet-friendly retreat for two tucked away in the pretty village of Sheriff Hutton and within sight of the castle ruins. This charming open-plan lodge features a kingsize bed, two comfortable armchairs for unwinding, and a compact kitchen equipped with a fridge/freezer. Designed as the perfect digital detox, there’s no Wi-Fi or TV—just peace, comfort, and time to reconnect. French doors open onto raised decking with outdoor seating, offering sweeping views across the Vale of York and towards the dramatic ruins of Sheriff Hutton Castle. A shower cubicle completes this thoughtfully arranged hideaway.
Step outside and you’re only a short stroll from the village’s much-loved, well-stocked store and a friendly pub serving local ales and delicious food. Guests can even arrange a private tour of the 600-year-old castle, once home to Richard III. The surrounding area is a paradise for walkers, cyclists, and wildlife enthusiasts, with the rolling landscapes of the Howardian Hills AONB just a short drive away.
