Location
The property is situated in the rural heart of Salento, in the town of Cursi. Built from the region’s distinctive pale limestone, Cursi has an elegant, understated charm, with quiet streets, small piazzas, traditional houses and beautiful Baroque details. At its centre stands the impressive Chiesa Madre di San Nicola Vescovo (a 5-minute walk). There are several restaurants within a 5-minute walk and a supermarket within a 1-minute walk of the apartment.
The town is also perfectly positioned for exploring the surrounding region. The medieval town of Otranto, one of the most picturesque settings in Puglia, with its seafront castle, is just a 20-minute drive away. Guests can also reach the coastal town of Castro with its striking cliffs and sea caves with a 20-minute drive, which is an ideal spot for boat trips and swimming in vivid turquoise coves.
Inland, the Baroque splendour of Lecce, often called the “Florence of the South”, is a 25-minute drive and perfect for a day of culture, shopping and fine dining. The main market here takes place every Monday and Friday morning, and a great place to pick up the very best local produce.
Golfers will enjoy the two courses near the town of Acaya (a 30-minute drive), or for more exercise and a hike through the unspoiled Mediterranean countryside, there is the WWF nature reserve of Le Cesine, which is approximately a 35-minute drive from the accommodation.
The closest international airport is at Brindisi (BDS), approximately 1 hour drive away by car.
