Main house with cottage on private quiet garden property within walking distance of Sconset village, beaches, bike path. The property and houses are brimming with charm. Large backyard for outdoor grilling, badminton, croquet, or simply relaxing and enjoying the garden. There is a great swing set and mini climbing structure in the backyard as well. The house and cottage are extremely livable and afford quite separate space for larger groups or families.

You will find that there are activities for children of all ages in Sconset, on Nantucket and even on the property. If you re an extended family looking for a place to meet varying needs, or a small group looking for a great place to spend a week, the house, cottage and garden will serve your needs.

First Floor Description
Main house has a large kitchen, laundry room, living room, gorgeous sun room with a flat screen TV- and a daybed perfect for reading. Spacious master bedroom with tub shower and Queen bed. Guest bedroom (King) with bathroom with a tub. Outdoor shower.

Really pretty garden sitting area in the back yard- The backyard garden has beautiful sitting and eating areas that are gorgeous for breakfasts, evening cocktails, dinners or just sitting and reading on a warm afternoon. Private yard.

Second Floor Description
Main house has three bedrooms (Queen, Full, Twin) that share one hall full bathroom on the 2nd floor. Main house sleeps 9 max. COTTAGE: kitchenette living area with a Queen bed. Bedroom with Queen. Full bathroom with laundry. Second floor has a bunk room.

Cottage sleeps 6.

We loved "Habitrot" !

We found this the perfect house for us! We were up in 'Sconset for a family wedding, and the house with its historic Nantucket family feel, just embraced us. Filled with heavenly books and comfortable beds and surrounded with grassy gathering spots and beautiful old trees, Habitrot made our hearts sing. Thank you, thank you, Dierdre et al.

Great rental. Lots of bedrooms and space: we were 3 little families in for a wedding and the house and cottage worked very well. Deirdre was very easy to work with.House was clean and well stocked. Quick walk to access small grocery store and the beach. Sconset is quiet and lovely with free regular shuttles to Nantucket.We would definitely return again.

Family Wedding

Nine of us stayed together in this gracious family home. The home was well equipped with a great floor plan. We had every weather, rain, fog, sun and felt cozy and snug.This is not a slick set up but rather a welcoming well loved home. We felt so fortunate to be there.

Large rambling home and cottage. Well kept grounds for outdoor actuvity it just lounging. Older home but all oretty much as advertised. And great location for walking around Sconset and the Bluff Walk.

Perfect spot for a family group in town for a wedding. House was well-stocked, very comfortable, not fancy. Walk to Sconset village, Bluff Walk and beach. Deirdre promptly answered all our questions, great communication. We enjoyed our stay!

Such a perfect rental house and location!

My group of friends absolutely LOVED this unique and perfect house! The communication was fantastic with the house owner. Very responsive and helpful with any questions. We would 100% stay here again next trip to Nantucket. We loved that it is a close walk to the beach and to the town. Everyone had plenty of space to sleep comfortably and everything we needed was available at the house. Highly recommend!

Excellent Sconset Getaway!

We had a great time staying at Habetrot. The location is spectacular, walking distance to both the beach and town. The home and cottage themselves are spacious, and there is no shortage of comfortable guestrooms. The yard is also a great place to hang out in between beach trips and dinner plans. We were incredibly fortunate to have great whether while we were there, which was an added bonus. There were adequate supplies, linens, beach chairs, etc. which made logistics easy as well. Check in was very easy, and the Host was very responsive for the few items we needed to communicate on. Overall, would definitely return, and highly recommend.

Absolutely amazing for our son and new DIL’s wedding! The house and cottage were just perfect for bringing our 2 families together. There was plenty of room for everyone to gather together and hang out. Their wedding day started with the first look and wedding photos taken at the house. What a beautiful backdrop for their wedding photos. The host was so gracious and accommodating.

Great Sconset location! Beautiful setting!

This was the perfect place for our family to gather for a Sconset Chapel wedding! We walked to the ceremony and reception next door! Deirdre Lord, the owner/manager, was very helpful and communicative. All descriptions were very accurate. This place can easily support 14 people with the beautiful cottage behind the house. What a great experience for a wonderful occasion! Thank you for everything, Deirdre!!

Siasconset stay with so much character and charm!!

3 families (10 people) just got back from Deirdre’s home and honestly I have never felt this relaxed after a vacation. No worries with Deirdre. She is very responsive and makes you feel very welcome. Rules are simple. I say this as some VRBO’s have 4 pages of rules and I am intimidated before I get there. You are literally in her home with plenty of games, puzzles, eclectic furniture, artwork from children’s drawings to various sculptures. I even found a secret dollhouse on the last day!! My sister in law is an artist and was delighted with all the beauty that she was surrounded with. Keep in mind this is an old home with a lot of character. There is one bedroom with a rug. If you have allergies bring Zyrtec. Our week was foggy and damp (expected,enjoyed) alternating with the most gorgeous days. We loved napping on the porch listening to the rain! You can walk to Siasconset market for coffee, ice cream and essentials. You can walk to the beach, bike ride all through the neighborhoods and walk the bluff. The beach has rough surf so keep that in mind. Not for young kids. The bus stop is nearby and will take you anywhere you want. We rented a jeep and went to great point and saw the seals. Great experience we will remember forever. The ranger was super nice and said he was going to send out a search party as it was getting close to dusk. We were reporting an injured seal and got delayed. Hope he made it!! Thank you Deirdre for a sharing your beautiful home with us!!

We have been coming to Sconset for over 40 years. We bought this property for its location, privacy and garden. We've loved coming here for the past 30 years and we can't wait to share this special place with you.

What makes this property unique

The privacy and ability to accommodate a growing, extended family has made this house a perfect year round get away for us over the last 30 years. We love having cocktails in the garden, grilling and having dinner outside in the summer and fall, walking to Sconset town for ice cream in the afternoon.
