Breathtaking, Wooded River Retreat " Isle Of View"
" Isle of View" is a spectacular 3 bedroom, two and a half bath, custom-built home on 7 private, wooded acres in Folsom Louisiana, with gorgeous sweeping views of the Little Tchefuncte river. This home is absolutely perfect for either a short get-away from the hustle and bustle of city life, or for an extended period of total relaxation and seclusion. With the enormous windows, and wide wrap- around decks, you will feel literally feel like you are living in a tree house, yet you will have all of the creature comforts you could ask for. If you are looking for the perfect place to unwind, then this is it.
Amenities include: >An enormous great room with huge vaulted ceilings, rustic French antique walnut table from the early 1800's that seats 6 with a huge Elk antler chandelier above it. There is room for two more people at the kitchen bar. There is a very large comfortable sectional sofa that two people can sleep on, as well as a smaller leather sofa and two chairs. If two people sleep on the sectional sofa, then the house will sleep 8. For entertainment, there is a 60" Flat screen television in the great room, with the capability to stream movies, as well as a DVD player. We do not have cable because it is not available. The decor is the perfect mix between modern and rustic, with many interesting and fun pieces of art to enjoy.
>Bedroom with bunk beds, games, and toys for kids. The bunk bed is two twin Serta, mattresses, so smaller adults can sleep on them if need be. This bedroom also has a television/DVD combo. > Horse-theamed Bedroom with very comfortable queen bed, dresser, and large closet. >Very clean bathroom with tub/shower >Extremely large primary bedroom with large, very comfortable King size bed, flat screen Television with DVD player. >Laundry room >High Speed satellite internet >Wrap around decks that give you a bird's eye view of the trees and landscape. The views of the river are truly breathtaking. There is comfortable seating for eight on the largest covered deck ( right off of the living room) as well as an authentic bamboo Tiki Bar, which is perfect for entertaining. > The little Tchefuncte river is crystal clear with gorgeous, quaint sandy beaches. > Totally furnished kitchen with serving for 8. Ninja Blender, Stainless pots and pans, baking sheets, all kitchen utensils, seasonings, food storage containers, and a brand-new stainless refrigerator with ice maker and water purifier. > Peaceful walking trails throughout the property > Private gazebo. > Stainless Steel gas bar-b-que grill. > House is 100% ADA accessible. > Elevator. > Foot bridge that leads to lookout over the river and outdoor seating area. > special area suitable for outdoor fires >Plenty of outdoor seating areas, benches, and swings. > Small country grocery store only 5 minutes away.
Special note: The fireplace does not work. It is for aesthetic purposes only. The reason we had to disconnect the fireplace is because of the liability and excessive propane use. The antique clawfoot tub in the primary bathroom is also for aesthetic purposes. It will require a major plumbing and tile renovation to get it working, which is not feasible at this point. The shower in the primary bathroom is massive, however and we do offer a tub in the second bathroom.
Optional services for additional fees:
>Cleaning during your stay including laundry service. >Large gatherings such as weddings, anniversaries, family reunions, retreats, etc. can be scheduled. Please inquire for scheduling and pricing.
Guest access Guests can access the entire property with the exception of the third floor and one of the closets in the master bedroom. Guests will have access to large closet in the master bedroom. The third floor is it's own self-contained condo and is off limits to guests. It is used by the owners ONLY when the house is not rented out. The third floor is accessed by the outside staircase and the elevator. The doors to the unit remain locked, so we ask that guests do not try to use the staircase to get to the third floor or to go up to the third floor with the elevator. Please do NOT allow children to go up to the third floor. The balcony up there is 40 feet up in the air, and if a child were to fall from there it would certainly result in tragedy.
You will be blown away with the unique appeal that "Isle of View ( I love you, get it? ) has. We can't wait to see you!

This was a very magical place to stay--unlike any other place we have stayed before! Very peaceful and quiet! We enjoyed our stay very much and it was hard to leave. The host Marcus' communication is excellent and he offered for us to reach out for any suggestions on places to eat, attractions in the area, etc. Thank you so much, Marcus, for sharing this special place with us and others!
Isle of View is THE COOLEST majestic most wonderful place. We wish we would have had more than two nights to stay here. Marcus is on point. We'd love to go back someday.
Everything was very clean, Marcus gave very clear check-in instructions and was very easy to reach for the one question I had. This property is very unique! I’m not sure what it was prior to becoming a VRBO, but it is very cool to explore and there are surprises around every corner at this place. I just wish I would’ve booked two nights instead of one!

Our stay at Isle of ViewThis home truly has beautiful views and a unique “treehouse” feel. The owner, Marcus, was very responsive and helpful, especially when we had a minor issue with the elevator. However, the property did not fully match the condition shown in the listing photos. The outdoor areas appeared less maintained than expected, with some disrepair and missing items. Inside, we noticed several cleanliness concerns, including dust in multiple areas and items in the refrigerator and pantry that were expired. There were also a few maintenance issues, such as misaligned stove knobs and some minor safety concerns.Overall, we still had a pleasant visit and enjoyed the space, but we felt the home could benefit from more thorough cleaning and upkeep to match the expectations set by the listing. We would consider returning if these issues were addressed.
Great place in the middle of nowhere. There is a Dollar General about 5 minutes away but that is most of the town. My Grandma really appreciated the elevator and said that the property would be great for entertaining. There was a few things that were obviously in the process of being updated but overall it was a great place to stay as long as you want to be away from the city.
Nice quiet property. We stayed for the weekend, able to take a short trip to Covington/Abita but still stay away from any city feel. Owner was great to deal with.
Property was absolutely stunning , my wife and I had an amazing time for our anniversary and will definitely be back again. Slightly disappointed that durring our stay the fireplace and claw foot tub weren't operational but the facility had such an over abundance of amenities that this was only a minor inconvenience. Property manager was very accommodating to our needs and for the money I'll choose this over a hotel anytime im in town.

Sean, we do appreciate your business! I do want to remind you and let potential renters know, that in the property description, I do mention that the fireplace will be inoperable as is the claw-foot tub. I used to let guests use the fireplace, but after numerous broken inserts, melted toys, and one person that ran the gas non-stop and used up hundreds of dollars of propane, I had to remove it as an option. To get the clawfoot tub working again will require a major plumbing and floor renovation and it is simply not in the cards right now. There is a massive shower in there for guests to use and there is a shower/tub combo in the guest bathroom if people want to use the tub. We look forward to hosting you again soon!
Beautiful place so quiet and peaceful, we stayed 4 days and had a small ceremony. We had no issues at all and the host was easy to communicate with. Only suggestion I would make would be to maybe label the light switch so guest knows which ones work what. Hoping to return every year if possible
Marcus was a great host who went above and beyond. My daughter left her cell phone at the property and we didn't even realize it until Marcus contacted us. We were over 2 hours away on our way home. He shipped the phone to us so we didn't have to add 4 more hours to our 9 hour drive home. The property was very beautiful and unique & had everything we needed. Thank you Marcus!
We had a great time for our weekend getaway! The kids did not want to leave! They loved fishing in the river. Don't forget to bring fishing poles and some chairs to enjoy the river. We left the chairs at home but will bring them the next time.
We had a great stay at the property. The view is beautiful, the house was clean and the elevator was a great option for when we needed to walk our German Shepherd.
I fell in love with this property and purchased it with the intention on one day living here full time with my daughter. We thought it would be fun and make financial sense to rent it out to select guests that would also appreciate it and take care of it.
Why they chose this property
This property is very special. It is totally private and secluded and very peaceful and serene. We have had baptisms in the river here, weddings, anniversaries, Batchelor parties, bachelorette parties, etc. The view of the river and the trees from the wrap-around deck upstairs is breathtaking. This house is absolutely perfect if you are looking for a retreat and a place to get away from it all.
