About this property

Landing Pad - blocks away from Alberta Arts District

This two bedroom, four bed apartment is just blocks away from the trendy Alberta Arts District. Close to shopping, restaurants, pubs, food carts, grocery stores, public transit and more. The unit is furnished with comfortable beds, high speed wifi, smart TV (roku), and all the extras needed to enjoy your stay. It is located on the basement floor of a classic Portland craftsman home. A block away from food carts, bus lines, & Natural Grocers, and 1 block from Alberta Street. Let the fun begin!

There's an entrance right off the street at ground level into the basement apartment. Enter into the cool, well insulated apartment to find a large open concept dining, living room, and and kitchenette.

Right in front of you, you'll find the dining table, which can seat four. To your right, you'll find seating at the tiled kitchen bar.

The living room features a sleeper sofa (queen), a smart TV, coffee table and cozy area rug.

The kitchenette has a 4 burner electric stove, large microwave, full size fridge, and toaster oven.

Through the kitchen you'll find the bathroom and bedroom. The bathroom has a shower, toilet, porcelain sink, and mirror.

Bedroom 1 features a queen sized bed, good sized closet, rug, bedside tables, and closet.

Through the living room, you'll find a door that enters into the laundry room. The laundry room is private, not shared with anyone else. It features a full sized washer and dryer.

Then there's a hallway down to the next bedroom. In the hallway, there's a wooden chest of drawers for extra storage needs. At the end of the hallway, there's a single bed stowed behind a privacy curtain. Above the twin bed, there's a window letting in nice light.

To the right of the twin bed, you'll find the doorway to bedroom 2. Bedroom 2 also features a comfortable queen sized bed, rug, bed side tables, a sizable closet, and an egress window.

I have found over time that every VRBO is different and every guest’s expectations are different when they book a short term rental. It is my goal to make sure that I am as transparent as possible so that you can make an educated decision on your choice of where you would like to stay.

PET POLICY: All pets must be approved in advance. You must confirm that the animal has no history of property destruction, indoor urination/defecation, aggression, or excessive noise. I expect you to have the animal with you or crated when you're not home. In order to maintain an allergen-low environment for other guests, I have the cleaners do deep cleans after every animal stays there and hire a carpet / upholstery cleaner if necessary. Any undisclosed pet will result in a large penalty. FEES: Dogs and cats: $200. This fee does not cover any damages caused by the pet that result in excessive cleaning or repairs.

ESAs / Service animals: If you have an ESA animal please send me a copy of the paperwork including the letter from your healthcare provider. If you have a service animal trained to help you with a disability, I will be asking you the following legally allowable questions:
1) Is the service animal required because of a disability?
2) What work or task has the animal been trained to perform? (Your disability does *not* need to be disclosed)

NOISE: No excessive noise. No parties. No yelling.

SMOKING: No smoking anywhere on the property

CLEANING: Sometimes a cleaner does a poor job and it catches me (and you!) off guard. Please let me know if the cleaner missed something(s) important and allow me to fix the issue. I assure you that I strongly value cleanliness and any lack of cleanliness is not on purpose.

GUESTS ABOVE YOU: This unit is converted, renovated basement in a triplex. The floors and walls are *sealed* cement. There is another apartment above you. As such, you may often hear the normal noises of other tenants in the building. This may include: people walking, pets walking, pets occasionally barking, muffled voices, muffled music, muffled TV noises, furniture being moved, the occasional thing being dropped on the floor. I inform our upstairs tenants to keep aware of tenants below, to wear socks, to keep their dogs from excessive barking, to keep quiet hours of 10pm - 8am. However, there is a certain level of noise that is not possible to control. If you notice the upstairs tenants causing excessive noise, especially during quiet hours, please let me know. If you would like me to bring over a noise machine, please let me know. By booking this unit, you acknowledge this reality of potential noise.

OLD HOUSE: This unit is located in an old house. Old houses come with a lot of unique charm. But they also tend to have issues that crop up, not out of negligence, but just out of simple wear and tear and age. They may have squeaky doors, old house smells, windows that are a bit funky to open, worn spots on the floor, etc. We try to address issues as quickly as they arise, but some issues are not going to be possible to address during your stay. When booking this unit you are acknowledging this reality and that you are not going to be met with a fancy new construction or brand new furniture.

CEILING HEIGHT: Because the apartment is in the finished basement of the house, the ceilings are a little lower than normal. This is probably not the best spot if you are taller than 6 feet.

SUMMER: We do not provide AC for this unit in the summer. It mostly stays quite comfortable because it's in a basement.

Not quite what we expected.
While the price was right and the bedrooms were nice, the overall feeling of the place was a bit rough. The 2 dehumidifiers running when we walked in was not a welcome sight. One of them was full and the first thing we did was empty it. My son in law has a lot of allergies so he did not feel comfortable in a place that needs 2 dehumidifiers running to keep the dampness out. They only stayed in the place 1 night of the 5 I had rented it for. The toilet also it prone to clogging a bit. If you don't mind the

Cluttered it dark and messy
I wasn't impressed with my stay in this small, cluttered, and dark two bedroom basement appointment. The toilet needs to be fixed, it ran our whole stay. The bath towels were damp, so they needed to be washed again. This place didn't look like the pictures. The beds were poorly made, almost looked as if they had been slept in already. The furniture was old and the one tv was small. I would nt stay again.
