About this property
2 Bed in Leyburn (oc-l42746)
Just off the bustling market square in Leyburn, this beautifully renovated cottage delivers an authentic taste of life in the Yorkshire Dales. The town is easily explored on foot, so find a parking space and forget about your car for a while – shop for self-catering supplies in family-run grocery shops and at the farmers’ market, or enjoy tasty local fare and the nearby pubs, bakeries and tearooms. For longer walks, routes head off from the town centre in all directions too. The famous limestone scar of Leyburn Shawl is a must-see, offering expansive views across Wensleydale, and from here you can continue on to Bolton Castle – a circular route would clock-up 11 miles. If you’d prefer less strenuous sightseeing, take a ride on the heritage Wensleydale Railway; for an alternative trip back in time, a vintage bus service connects Leyburn to Ripon (20 miles), Redmire (5 miles) and Hawes (16.5 miles).
A traditional cottage layout is complemented by every modern must-have at this lovely holiday hideaway, while on-street parking at the rear means you can simply park up, unpack and settle in. Access the cottage via the shared front gate and make your way down a couple of steps to your front door. Once across the threshold, you’re straight in the lounge where you’ll find comfortable soft seating and a window seat. A Smart TV in one corner offers home-from-home entertainment, and there’s a wood-burner-style electric heater for added after-dark ambience. Beyond, the kitchen/diner has well-stocked cupboards and includes a contemporary dining suite. When it’s time to sleep, two blissful bedrooms are on the first floor: a double bedroom and a bunk room, both sharing use of a lovely shower room with WC.
Just outside the front door, the small patio garden is south-facing and furnished so you can enjoy food and drinks in the fresh air.
